Your right very cool, used to have these funny enough. They used to fight the cowboys and 7th Cavalry, I can still here the bugle playing now. Great paintwork and video.

These are beautiful figures. The sculpt and poses seem fluid, natural and well thought out. As for their accuracy, I can not speak. Along with the Cowboys and the 7th Cavalry they may well be just as inaccurate. They seem more inspired by Hollywood than Historical Evidence. The 1970s displayed little interest in the correct use of terminology and respect for minority groups. I agree that today these figures may be better served by the title Native Americans, although this is also in dispute as it ignores Hawaii and Alaska. As the debate rages on, I prefer to enjoy these classic toys for what they are; Children's' Toys made with a passion for detail and quality. Thank you for this lovely trip down Nostalgia Avenue. Lovely stuff.

I bought recently a similar set of these kind of plastic warriors.The Chinese manufacturer called them “Cavemen”.Another sort of set was simply called “Wild West”.

Like I said on 7th Cav. video, glad you did these, were unknown to me before this. These figures seem almost identical to the figures that used to come in the FORT APACHE army set, which was made by MARX, wonder if someone copied somebody, if so not who. These are great figures, no my wish list now
@toysoldiernostalgia Жыл бұрын
Do you know what year the Marx set was released. As far as I can gather there was quit a bit of copying during at least the 50s and 60s.

The rider to horse connection was extremely flimsy on these "Wild West" figures. Almost guaranteed to break with any sort of handling. Airfix didn't really think that one through (though nothing comes close in flimsiness to the M1 carbine barrels on the "US Infantry" or the signal flags on the "German Mountain troops" sets).

I have a set of little big horn toy soldiers,I’ve never seen ones quite like this. 3 troopers running around with arrows in their back. Their are 3 female Indians holding what looks like a child’s basket,but if you look in the basket,it’s the head of a trooper,and their is a trooper bent over and the top of his head is flat.Custer is laying their and his shirt is ripped around his chest, I’m assuming to give the impression that they cut out his heart. I’ve never seen soldiers like this before,you know if it was the other way around their would be law suits.
