FYI (commenters): The cheaper "sport" version ("CPS") of the CP99 doesn't have a decocker, despite looking exactly the same as the standard CP99 upon first glance. The decocking method demonstrated here works on ALL variants of the Umarex CP99 pellet pistol. Some people have difficulty using the decocking button 'cause it can be hard to press in. I've learned to use it with my shooting hand (right hand) thumb but this does requires me to flip the muzzle leftward (for my thumb to reach) and tilt the pistol upward (for second-rate safety). Practice makes it easier but the method demonstrated here is fussless and effective. A great, concise review. I like that you casually disengage safety with the trigger finger - so many people complain about that safety catch. Are we the only people on the planet that can do this and effortlessly?! It doesn't take much to work out and get good at. It's a real pity about some of the negative comments below. Some people ought to get a brain before being allowed to type things on the internet! Not a bad pellet pistol at all. Tried shooting 10 meters with it just for the heck of it. Not bad results even by such a compact pistol.

theres a little turnstile that the co2 cartridge sits on. yu have to twist that up separately from the bottom tightening

@pyramydair only on every 10th cartridge, or it gets gummed up. dont need to do this is your using crossman co2 though.

you don't decock it like that, the thing has a decocking button on the top rear of the slide

Man what the hell that's the PELLET CP99 you need to put that in the title. There's 2 different types of these guns, this gun in my opinion I don't like, it looks stupid, it's too light, doesn't have that much a realistic design, and the slide separates. The other CP99 (BB Only) looks real, it's heavy like the P99, and almost all of it is metal.

*Unwise Bugger* - No need. The names here are correct: they correspond to the real steel versions. The "CP99" (pellet pistol) corresponds to the "P99" (9mm pistol), the "CP99 COMPACT" ("compact" being part of its name) is the BB pistol you're talking about. It has a differently shaped frame and corresponds to the "P99 Compact" (9mm pistol). Different pistols.

Tidy review 91 shots? last 30-40 shots are hardly useable. First 40-50 shots are from 395fps down to 340fps, and then it tails off rapidly! and then doesn't even get out the barrel!
