This was very helpful for me. Even while in the military, I always used iron sights on a long gun. Once I got out, my main focus was handguns. By the time I started getting interested in using optics, I felt a little embarrassed about my lack of knowledge. I also suck at math; so when folks start talking about mils and MOA, my eyes glazed over. Thank you, for dumbing it down for people like me.

I hunted for 6 years ( the lenght of my carier) with a fixed 4x 24. 50ies copy of a ww2 german scope, which was their copy of the soviet PU. Military build, rugged, shitty as shitty gets performance in anyounes book. Did the job without fail. So.

Thanks, I'm another glazed over mathematician. damn, keep it simple . If you want my money KEEP IT SIMPLE!! The only thing that I learned that helped me all my life was the times tables up to 12x12. And I learned that in the 4th grade. The rest of the 10 years was a skid stain on my underwear!

I also hunted as a kid with iron sights and qualified sharp shooter in the military during the Nam era, it's only been in the last 5yrs I ever used a scope and that's only because that's how I purchased the rifle and no iron sights was on it. But all in all I'm old school and still like iron

Came by this channel looking to learn about rifle scopes because my first experience with a scope I was with a buddy and his dad but didn't get any points across, made it seem easier than it was. so looking down a scope I was confident it was all lined up but when I pulled the trigger there was nothing on the other side of my scope. It was absolutely terrifying for me to lose a round I fired in all honestly. regardless of being on a private range I never picked a rifle scope back up in the event I lose the round again.... It sounds silly but until i saw this video I now know it was the parallax that was fucking with me. I greatly appreciate this video. Honestly... and your accent hits real close to home, love it!

Im 56 and hust got my first rifle and im hooked on shooting! I had no idea how fun and challenging it is to put a hole in a target from a good distance!! Now im a complete beginner so im happy to hit 100 yards. I cant fathom what it takes to make a long shot like 1000 yards. But ive learned so much abd wish i had started sooner. I dont hunt just shoot for fun and the challenge of doing it. Thanks!!

Make sure when you marry that scope to the rifle, like any marriage, it will last with expensive rings. Scope tubes are fragile. Do Not over torque.

I got my Tasco 4x32 from a YT giveaway once. It's only sitting now on a PCP airgun - but oh do I like it. Turrets do have caps - but they are still finger adjusted. No screwdrivers nor other tools. And it's a basic duplex crosshair - which I love. I surely like to use it even though I have lately wanting to go up from 4x to 3-9 or the likes.. But Cyclops did already help me lately deciding my next scope.. This channel has damn good videos of scopes!
