Huzzaa!! This air rifle, the Regal XL is in my opinion the finest air rifle made. Should be the first PVP anyone acquires entering the sport of air rifle shooting. It does not disappoint. It is not full of gimmicks or cutting edge "features" but it is THE air rifle all serious shooters should own.

The Daystate Huntsman dominated the pages of 1980s Airgun World Magazine, Its immense aesthetic appeal, its outstanding performance, and its enviable pedigree are easily worth its relatively low price.

Thanks for the commercial. I'm almost tempted to go drop $1100 on one but I just remembered that's what I paid for my M1 Garand and that pellet gun would be like the 6th or 7th most expensive gun in my collection. And its a pellet gun. Nothing against pellet guns. I think they're fun and good learning/practice/plinking tools for any shooter. But they're still PELLET GUNS.

Hey it cost more than my 12 gauge Browning Silver hunter...I only have more into my AR cause I built another upper for it in .300 blackout as well....but ...there are so many things you can do with a good PCP....even more with a great one...this is a great one! I can shoot pellets at 1 cent a shot...cant even do that with rimfires....I can shoot it in my yard out to 25yds! They are quieter than rimfires,(I have the trifecta of rimfires too I'm not hating on them), iti s hunting gun....squirrel rabbit,,,other things such as Raccoon, Fox, Weasels, Possums etc...Coyotes even have been reported with some .22s and .25s.....There is an OCD that kicks in with these things so be careful...worse than potato chips! Find a friend or shop that has PCP and give a try!

Excellent video! I have owned mine now 6 months, purchased from AOA. Just a phenomenal air rifle, stunningly accurate! Mine is in .22, with a Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50. I had AOA add a Huggett moderator a few months ago and wow... does it quite it down even more than the already quite standard moderator! I shoot H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme 18.52 gr. and Rangemaster Sovereign 15.9 gr. I hunt pigeons and I find the H&N B.H. Extremes are just lights out! This is my first air rifle and I am seriously happy I listened to the staff of AOA! Thank you!

I have a huntsman midas that I've owned for 8 years. Only gun I can shoot hole in hole at 20 yards-if I do my part. I SHOT A SKUNK at 10 yards and it never spayed my direction! I just have the carbon fiber moderator. When I target shoot with it it is very quiet! If it wasn't the skunk would have probably got me. Or my chickens. It is silent hunter quiet.

I spent nearly an hour at the airgun shop cycling between the Regal XL and the FX Streamline. I have never had a tougher choice to make with any airgun purchase before. I ended up going with the Streamline for its pricepoint, easy 3 power adjustment wheel which works very well together with the excellent regulator, as well as a smoother, lighter cocking handle. I wish the Streamline had the beautiful, mature/classic look of the Regal though.

I purchased this gun in it's newest iteration, the XL HR (Huma Regulated) in .22 caliber. I am very pleased with the gun, however, it's not all pie in the sky. The gun is everything stated in the video with two notable exceptions. The shot count being of my rifle is right at 30-32 usable shots before it falls severely off the regulator at which point it's accuracy, the strongest asset of this rifle, is no longer dependable. It's impossible for me to imagine how the unregulated version of this rifle could possibly get more shots per fill than the regulated version. The second issue is the entire bolt action which is very stiff and not at all as smooth and easy as one would expect from a gun at this price point. Lastly, and this has to do with the multi-shot magazine, not the gun itself, the magazine is fiddly at best. Surprisingly, on a gun that is built on and based around straight forward reliability and simplicity, Daystate has chose to over complicate the multi-shot mechanism to such a degree as to make it a huge P.I.T.A. to use. This is due mainly to it's self indexing mechanism which simply put, is rubbish, and expensive rubbish at that. The magazine easily loses indexing continuity, fails to advance and and leaves pellets unshot. Furthermore, the gun tends to "jam" when this happens and it becomes very difficult (nearly impossible) to extract the magazine without a great deal of fiddling around. All in all, this is an incredible gun and money I would gladly spend again even knowing about these issues. The gun is simply that good. However, pretty videos with dramatic music serve a purpose, they're the bait on the hook. The reality, although still lovely, isn't without it's rough edges.

I have the unregulated version and I get 50-60 shots easily. My backyard range only goes out to fifty yards and I get no drop at that yardage. I usually shoot 5 mags and top it off. It only takes 4 minutes or less with my hand pump. I think the unregulated version is better than the Huma regulator. Less expensive and a Foster fitting, no crappy probe... That Harper valve and sling shot thingy is awesome.

You know I have one of these Regal XL daystate rifle and they clearly are the best rifle I believe out there with the traditional look I mean it doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles the regulator the power adjuster it doesn't have to all have all those things to shoot really well you just load the gun pointed and sighted in and you know the less bells and whistles a gun has the less problem you will have with the gun not saying but that new FX streamline gun is not a really well-made gun as well but if you don't want to power adjuster or all the bells and whistles they come pretty close in comparisons but for a gun that is not regulated and they fill it the 220 bar and the gun will give you 45 high-powered shots on a fill is absolutely incredible and look how long they have made this gun and it is absolutely beautiful the nicest gun that I own and it doesn't have a crazy great big goofy looking bottle that looks like a space-age gun this is a beautiful traditional air gun that looks like a real gun and you just can't beat it

Thanks for that info. I was about to pull the trigger on getting a FX Streamline. But the Regal looks like a better overall value for just $100 more.
@crufflerrick6 жыл бұрын
It was down to the FX Streamline and Regal for me... I went Daystate Huntsmen Regal...to many reports of leaky seals with the FX...those can be fixed but $1000 air guns shouldn't be leaking....And that's bad cause the Swedes can make excellent stuffs!
@JoePatABC6 жыл бұрын
The gun now comes in a regulated version the Regal XL HR. The interesting thing is that the shot count is down substantially from the 45 reported to 30-32 on the regulator before it begins to lose accuracy and power. I imagine that this is due to the loss of space in the air cylinder combined with the higher overall power being given the usable shots, but it is a noteworthy issue worth consideration before purchasing the HR version.

May well be the best looking PCP on the market, though the FX streamline could give it a run for the money, but if I had to choose I would go for pedigree and that's Daystate !

5 years ago I bought that rifle. I loved him for being beautiful and precise, but had an ES: 45 in 10 shots, an SD: 15. I never could setup it. In 40 shots it went from 900 to 500, once setup from 800 to 950. For the data that I can see in video, this is a new version because new numbers are beautiful. And the trigger guard is different. I would buy it again. I understand that the regulated version is coming?

14.3 too light it would be like 950 fps. JSB 15.9s its shoots around 890. you don't want to go past 900 fps or accuracy of any gun drops off.

I hope I didn't hear you write on this that you only back the daystate Huntsman Regal for 3 years warranty wise what do we do after the warranty runs out just throw the gun away or are you guys going to stand behind it and fix it if we have problems I hope you do or I just wasted a lot of money on a gun
@airgunsofarizona6 жыл бұрын
The warranty is 3 years. After that, we still service but it is not under warranty, so parts and labor are charged.

ONLY? Most guns you get a 90 day. Mine is 6 years old and ZERO issues. Why would you toss the gun away after warranty? Did you get dropped on head?

No you must be stupid and you don't understand what I said I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a gun and if I need work done I would like to be able to get it taken care of he was saying on there if you knew how to read that he said after 3 years it didn't sound like that they would take care of the gun if I needed it worked on after the warranty had ended but evidently I guess you got dropped on your head because you don't know how to read cuz you couldn't understand the message that I sent or the question that I asked but hopefully you might be smart enough and get through the day and maybe figure out what I was asking

180del I mean they just stay there, when was the last time Daystate win the benchrest. They really need to keep up with their guns performance.
@peetje280219706 жыл бұрын
They are hunting rifles, not benchrest rifles.
@Wildchannel3606 жыл бұрын
180del would increase shot counts, will be even more accurate. So Yes. At this price point. Daystate should have a Regulated. But if it would cost @750-900max I would not argue.
@hunter100t6 жыл бұрын
Tak it has the Harper valve on board so is very consistent, but if you really wanted to improve shot count (accuracy would not change) then it would need an electronic trigger with no hammer, just an electric valve, but you see this rifle is for the purist, but if you don't get that then buy something else. however, for those that need a regulator you can get one now from Daystate who have bowed to demand and introduced one, a few more shots yes but no more accurate, just for the whingers you understand.
