Remember: this world is heavily based on D&D. Raise Dead is a spell for Clerics in D&D. Even if Goblin Slayer dies here, there is a chance they could get his body back to Sword Maiden to have him raised. It’s expensive, but worth it.

Right, a list of things to explain- 1. Diggy Hole- That's a reference to the Yogscast song. It is quite the earworm. 2. Quicklime is used in making cement. Which, when one is surrounded by stone is normally redundant in the worst possible way. 3. The voice was Goblin Slayer's mentor (the line would have been something Goblin Slayer was remembering, rather than someone actually speaking to him in the moment). The thing about the hair! Human Hair is actually one of the strongest materials out there, and has a long history of being used to make Garrote wires (what goblin slayer was using it for) because the shit is that durable and resistant to tearing. Think about it. There’s plenty of cases where chunks of peoples skulls were ripped out because their hair got caught in something. Hair is very difficult to break.

Personally, my favorite character in the abridged is Lizard Priest. In the novel/manga/anime he's mostly a forgettable character, but here in the abridged Lizard Priest's personality is that of a Lizard Folk from D&D. It's amazing. Airier, I highly recommend you to watch "Basically Lizardfolk" by Runesmith. That video is not long hilarious, it would also allow you to understand how Lizardfolks are in D&D, and thus would also increase your enjoyment of the Goblin Abdridged series. I also recommend Runesmiths' other D&D videos, such as Basically Devils and Basically Lich. His videos in general are great, but I really like these 3.

Also, among things not said in the Lizardfolk video I mentioned above, Lizardfolks are also quite independent in that they will normally try to things by themselves (to such extents that the "I accept the challenge" scene about the map in this abridged episode was quite accurate). They also don't bury their dead. They instead eat them and use their bones for stuff (aka like the Lizard Priest in the abridged, who had the group "eat of his people"(his grandfather) in ep2 and how he keeps on using the bones as weapons and as summons).

Something that I forgot to mention when I first watched this: If you think about it, the goblins could've still curbstomped the party even after Goblin Slayer got his second wind, the Goblin Champion was almost strangled to death and lost his eye, and everyone but Priestess had thrown off their assailants and were back in the fight. The goblins had the numbers to zerg-rush them, the Champion could still fight after being no longer strangled and despite losing an eye, Goblin Slayer is mortally injured and could barely stand, and Lizard Priest was busy trying to keep Priestess alive, leaving Dwarf Shaman and High Elf Archer as the sole actual threats to the goblins. And yet the goblins ran away. Because in the end, they're all cowards whose main priority is self-preservation over all else, even others of their own kind. The Champion retreated because his illusion of invincibility was shattered, and the others retreated because they believed the Champion to be invincible (and probably knew said Champion would kill them outright if they didn't do its bidding) and had just watched said invincibility by destroyed by a single man who by all rights is on the verge of death. Having lost the source of the courage that drove them to fight in the open like they did, it's only to be expected that they'd devolve into "every goblin for itself" mode and thus turn what was still an assured victory for them into a complete rout.

In the anime it shows who was talking in the flashback also in the anime he makes it more creepy but cool by slowly explaining what he was doing, and finally, in the anime, he says that assains used hair as rope because it was so strong. The more you know.

The joke about the 3 dwarves and the Black Spider is a reference to one of the most well-known D&D modules, The Hoard of the Dragon Queen. The 3 dwarves ask you to reclaim their mine from a sorceror called the black spider which is the first mission of the campaign.

The fight scene and the ending was handled very well in the anime too. The abridged team didn't really changed much of it. The biggest change is just having Goblin Slayer have more lines (screamed, of course) when fighting while injured. The ending in the anime was as much of a gut punch.
