So it sounds like you never beat the first of half of Low Rank. This is about the first 20% of the BASE game. After you beat Low Rank, it unlocks High Rank, which roughly increases all monster's base stats by 250%, and unlocks new monsters. Once you beat the story parts of High Rank, it unlocks the original end game content, which accounts for about 50% of the original content, including "tempered" upgraded versions of the already upgraded High Rank monsters. Then the Iceborne DLC unlocks Master Rank, which increases all monster's stats again by an additional 250% (of High Rank stats), and also doubles the number of monsters and regions from the base game, as well as many new variations of existing monsters. In total, if you play all of Iceborne's endgame content, including the endlessly respawning monsters region (which allows you to further upgrade and customize every weapon from the base game & Iceborne tech tree), it roughly quadruples the content of the base game. I put in 1200 hours, still only scratched the surface of the Iceborne endgame.

Monster Hunter world basically explained: Low rank where you were: Basic monsters High rank: Every basic monster with new armour and gear upgrades +new monsters DlC Iceborne: New story as long as base game Every previous monster scaled up again again with new armours and weapon upgrades + dozens of new monsters and a massive endgame. Monster Hunter world is a massive game. The endgame might be harder than most of dark souls. For me at least it was.

Hey Arier. Great vid as always. Since you have at least a little experience with MHW, but perhaps don’t know the entirety of the ecology, I’d recommend videos like Oceaniz’s The Nature of Monster Hunter World series (Although even the individual videos are fairly long.)

Monster Hunter doesn't do dlc like other games. They always just release a giant expansion and call it good. They also do free updates that add new monsters and equipment for a few years after a game releases and then do it again for the expansion when it comes out.

Well, Felynes actually can get fairly big under certain circumstances. In World, the offline hub canteen is run by the Meowscular Chef, a retired Palico who is two times as tall as an ordinary Felyne, with three times the mass in pure muscle. According to lore, his primary weapon is a greatsword.

I also would argue that the dlc doubling the length of the game is a low-ball estimate, it tripled it for me with the new special endgame area. It is a full blown expansion instead of dlc.

MHworld is huge time eater without even trying to be a collector die to how huge it is the expansion made the game huge enough to eat months of time and multiplayer needy bosses that needs skill if you are going solo the rest of series is even more challenging early on vs world keep trying new things xD

24:04 I mean the transition is not that sudden, granted it still means that your best build in the lower ranks would become less useful going forwards into the higher ranks, but that’s where the better gear comes in. As for “getting good” this is more so the case of picking a weapon that you feel comfortable with and the build you have, and if your unintuitive with build then the community has you covered since builds are pretty much shared.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has become one of my favourite games, ironically next to completely tonally 180 games like Undertale/Deltarune, the game about befriending monsters and is a turnbased rpg/bullet hell
