Judging by the width, and length of the bag your still going to pay! I just came back from a trip and my bag was that size and had to pay $120 this was in June 2024 through Avianca airlines.

No they actually don’t want any luggage that is why they charge high fees. It’s more work for them. Checking it in, scanning it, searching it if needed to, transporting it to the plane, throwing it on the plane, unloading, etc etc They are trying to DISCOURAGE any checked luggage’s.

This is way to big for personal item. In fact airlines changed again the sizes of the personal bag, the only way to pass it is like the hand luggage, then there is no problem, is even smaller than a carry-on.

Can you use a backpack as long as it's not full and will fit under the front seat?

I have traveled on MANY airlines with a very stuffed backpack and no issues ever in my 20 years of flying....and here's a little pro tip (when your group number is called do not be the last in line where you stand out the most If your bag is a little puffy) other than that Happy and safe travels!!

My airline wants backpacks as carry on. I had a bag like that but they didn’t allow it they said it’s not a carry on when it’s not a backpack and they said that’s too big as a personal item so I couldn’t go .

Some airlines would want you to weigh this bag. As soon as they see this big carry on they will make you pay and see it as a second carry on. Just saying

It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on the craftsmen and quality inspection. My family and I have purchased D U P B A G Y bags over the past three years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

They come in many colors. I bought two... one in black for my husband. They can fit under the seat if you don't overpack them. I've been using something very similar to this bag for many years, and I'm retiring it, replacing it with the Foldie.
