It's related to the reduction of image noise (due to low light and high sensitivity of the sensor), not related to audio, if that's what you are unsure about. With current firmware, the noise reduction is settable in the same [-2,+2] range as the sharpness. It's a matter of taste, I chose -2 for sharpness and -1 for NR.

Very nice tips! I was unsure whether I should watch yet another OA4 video explaining how to set resolution, framerate and other basic stuff ... because it's rather self-explanatory. But instead this turned out to be quite useful. I tend to never read manuals, so I would have missed changing the screen off time while recording ... Thanks!

Good and helpful video Shawn. Just taken delivery of mine to upgrade from the OA3. Is just a shame that the ND lens screw mount does not allow the ones i had for the OA3 to be used. Will need to buy a full replacement set! Both cameras look the same except for the lens filter screw size. A very marginal difference. Hadn't picked that up before.

Are you happy? I finally upgraded my Action 1 to the 4 today, picking it up tomorrow. Standard combo was is for sale everywhere now for 210$ only, so i sold my Action 1 for 150$ and upgraded. I did add the Dji mic mini for 50$ also.

I returned back my djji Osmo pocket 3 and purchased dji Osmo action 4 instead which is much more versatile, does the same things as Osmo pocket 3 AND MORE and it is also WATERPROOF which is a huge deal for me as I do a lot of underwater filming as well. I am also not a big fan of the mechanical gimbal on a handheld camera because it doesn't seem to follow well all the time and it is too fragile. I would recommend the Dji Osmo ACTION 4 adventure package! It's cheaper than Pocket 3 and offers lot more! I it is just a better deal all around!

I just want to add that nothing is "water proof" they are water RESISTANT up to 60ft (18m) only if the lens cap is on tight and battery door shut properly. any deeper you need the dive case that is good for 197ft (60m) if I remember the numbers correct. Main point is some people get confused due to marketing saying water proof or water resistant and not making a standard saying and causing people to damage equipment due to negligence of actual manual reading for products. Over all great review and enjoy the videos, they are super helpful.

Would you use Rock Steady or Rock Steady +? I’m confused by the difference and not sure which to use for a majority of my shots.

Rocksteady plus will give you an extra layer of stabilization little smoother, but it is more Cropped in. Most of the time I use just regular rocksteady I find it works very well.

You need to push it a little bit forward before connecting it back. I hope it make sense haha. It have to be push forward/extendeded before reconnect it, once u get it, is very easy.

Put it in Linear with the maximum stabilization enabled, will really crop it in. Plus you can use the digital zoom, but it will degrade the quality a bit.

Hold on here before you go into all this guff sorry to be so honest you have to download the DJI Osmo Action 4 app from your phone then choose the correct sim card otherwise the blasted thing will only give you a maximum of 20 mins recording time.
