My satire didn’t come off clearly enough lol. I actually like hybrids, I think they’re really fun. I Just feel as if LA is super strong in its ability to deal damage, it could benefit from being toned down. Damage of course does not mean battle impact, so it’s possible the spreadsheet will say these are fine. We shall see. PC player here, what you really need is a hud icon letting you know planes are near you to begin with, then (assuming you can turn off your AA for better atealth) change that hud icon to let you know they are within AA range. As a DD main of ol', I can contest how the staffing was there to stop DDs from being nukes by rockets, allegedly by letting the DD capt know where the rockets were going to land, but in reality just slowing the time between trigger pull and fire (and it arguably still hasn't fixed the issue).

I don't know if it's worse than PC but they do keep dumbing Legends down. Carriers are just the latest example. Carriers don't have any utility or strategy anymore, they're just mindless free damage farmers. The fact that planes can now only spot for the carrier has pros and cons that hardly anyone is talking about. The tradeoff is, yes, it's nice not instantly being spotted from across the map for most of the match every time there is a carrier around but the drawback is it takes that stratagy out of the game. There is no point for a cv player to orbit destroyers or cruisers keeping them spotted because no one else can see them. You might as well just spam bombs and torps on the nearest target that isn't part of an AA bubble. Carriers basically function the same as a battleship but with even longer range, no spotting penalty for attacking, and can hit the backside of islands.

@@177SCmaro At least these hybrid ships seem way more stupid. Launching two strikes with insane damage and not even having to pay attention and control the aircraft. In PC you get one bomber strike and you have to manually control them, leaving the ship vulnerable and unable to fire in this time.

They’re putting out these small maps that negate any map or spotting range knowledge and ability to maneuver. It’s like they want to just turn it into a mobile game you whip out while you’re getting your oil changed. Everyone just rushes in, dies in 30 seconds and then off to the next game

Had a very similar game and instantly uninstalled the game. Reinstalled it 5 hours later as I've got to much invested to just bin it.Holding out for a big nurf are a carrier free option. Fake ships will ruin this game.

I think making catapult fighters more effective against planes would help with the problem. Seems like it’s very difficult for them to detect enemy planes currently. They pretty much have to be right on top of them to engage. Make them where they would completely stop 1 incoming attack. This would actually make fighters a decent choice again.

When CV were first introduced to PC they had separate fighter squadrons that you directed. Meaning you could in fact counter an enemy carrier effectively. WG felt that wasn't fun so they started changing things over time until we got this crap

The Plane spam was going to get worse once they released that Dutch Cruiser and now you have those Hybrid US Battleships. It's absolutely ridiculous how this game plays now. I'm fighting the air more than actual ships.

That's how most naval battles were... It's not fun, but I and plenty of others have been calling for years for more realism. They need to buff AA a bit..., in range. Like 20mm and 40mm guns need a range of 4-5km and the DP secondaries 7-10km.

I like how they implemented hybrids in legends compared to pc. I however hate the carrier "rework" and think they're completely broken now. My go to example is a match in which a Kaga decided to focus me and I lost almost 50k hp in like 4 minutes. I was in an American BB so I shot down 50 Planes... However only his last sqaudron wasn't full. I don't think I have to say more.😑

I totally get that. I had a Kaga and a Nebraska target me the whole game and I shot down literally 70 planes. I'm sure some of them were patrol fighters but still crazy numbers

lol, 50 planes was almost as many planes as the real Kaga even carried. I believe she carried around 70 active planes with around 20 more in storage.

The problem with the hybrid battleships are normal ships function like Rock, siscor, Stone principles, but the hybrid battleships don't act after this principles. They can attack you without being spotted or without taking DMG because seconds it behind Islands all mountains and center Planes to you because you are tactum and are you are spotted😅 Thats a Problem right now the onky Countermeasure you have ist stay13Km away so their Airstrike cant hit you ore Play DD and attack wit Torps. The BBVs have made BB positioning irrelevant. You work hard to position, protect your broadside, angle, dodge fire and now all that can be negated because lol, you now have to either eat the torps and not go broadside, or go broadside to dodge. You take three or four of the torps and that's a citidels worth of damage gone that previously wouldn't be gone (if you're angling properly). I honestly think they're a horrible addition. I've gone back to strictly playing DDs now, because they're king in this meta. Gone are the days of any sort of secondary brawling. No more banger atlantico matches.

What's funny is DD's are more powerful than ever now with cv's not being able to spot for the team but no one is playing them. Everyone is playing the new battlecarriers. I'm seeing like 0 to 1 dd's in my games unless I play one then it's like 1 or 2.

As a DD main in PC, please take care of your DD capts. It is not fun being the b- of 1/3 of the ships in the game while also having to spot, cap, torp, fight other DDs, farm BBs, hunt/dodge SS, CVs, and radar DDs, CLs, CAs, CBs, and BBs, lay smoke for team and use it my self to farm, screen for enemy torps, drawl gunfire by opening up while also almost never getting hit, and like 5 more things, all in the time frame of a single minuet, for 20 minuets, for every single game

What's that?" it was the Louisiana, it killed me in my Vallejo. I have Louisiana now and other than figuring out the drops, it is a blast to take out. Guns are amazing. Very tough too. Carry on...

I've noticed that planes from both the hybrids and D7P don't count towards planes shot down for calendar tasks. Like 40 shot down over 7 matches of no true carriers and it meant nothing

Before hybrids CVs created the crossfires for the BBs, now the BBs are the ones creating their own crossfires at will. We went from a bit of teamwork to no teamwork at all. Gotta love WeeGee

Setting your own crossfires with these things is their real power. I’d rec not brawling 1 tbh for that reason. Unless you’re prepared to take the 30k torp hit while you bow tank

Aircraft Carriers are why I quit the PC version of World Of Warships. The game went from a arcade surface warfare game to a carrier damage farming simulator.

That's pretty much what cv's are in Legends after the rework the only limit placed on them is fuel. WG seems just as determined to eventually turn Legends into world of planes as they did PC. The only thing stopping them from already including subs is the old consoles probably can't handle rendering an underwater environment.

@@Nexesys WWII onwards carriers were/are a major part of sea warfare. But, you're right, the CV rework was a double-edged sword. Carriers are even less strategic now and virtually all about damage farming. I rarely play them but when I do anymore my only "strategy" is to go after the desoyer(s) first and once they're dead start looking for the weakest AA or lowest HP ships around and just start farming until the clock runs out or we sink them all. But most people seem to like the rework, however brainless it may be, simply because now they can sail around without worrying about being perma spotted from across the map and focused down but almost as many complain about carriers farming ability being even more broken then it was before.

Anytime anyone says anything about all the planes, the assumption is that they're poor player. I tend to refrain from speaking negatively about the game, because regardless of changes, I still have fun and do well. I play primarily CA/BB and understand the pro/cons of my choices. However, it is absurd at times now. Just way too much going on from above. I'm sure it will die down eventually, but having games where there's a CV, 3 Hybrids, and let's throw the mandatory Provincion these days is overkill. Maybe like CV, limit the amount per side and mirror ship type. Thanks for another upload...🍻

In the original carrier version on PC, they would drop torps in the center of islands, and they would just go through the island and come out and hit you without warning.

Thanks for the video 😎Way to many planes in a game called world of warships. Sure it's fun hitting 25k torpedo damage then stating a fire straight after. Is that any fun for the other guy though? I've been dishing it out and been on the receiving end of it. How is it any fun for anyone when half either team is dead in under 3mins. I've stopped playing most of my favourite ships because they are basically defenceless against against carriers already but with all the extra hybrids I can't enjoy playing them and I like a challenge, but this is dumb. Im generally a very aggressive player,, reversing to max gun range just means you cant take caps and looose on point before your teams is all dead. When you sporn center in a bb and and up to 5 carriers focus you in the 1st 90 seconds you may as well just head straight back to port and pick another ship. If it's not fixed soon I'll be uninstalling. I do agree that the hybrids can't carry the game also the torp aiming seems very glitchy. I've also caineed my commander xp and a lot of coins changing builds for aa just to get 5 to 10 games in a row with no plains at all. Chang it back to a dim build and boom 5 carriers on the red team and 3 on blue. The game ,right now is a mess. Let's see what patch day brings.

Lol you drop your torts against the island. The transparent grid squares are an indication of your torpedo spread and arming distance. The white line is when your torpedo is armed and set to detonate on impact.

The only problem I have with battle carriers is the reason why they were not built in real life is how vulnerable aviation fuel and bombs and torpedoes storage would be in a gunnery fight and that should be reflected in the game. I can only come to the conclusion that the people who did these saw the plans and did not do the deep research like I do as a life long student of history.

D7P is pretty much the only ship i can consistently do well and have fun in at this point, if your ship has base aa less than 75 and garbage concealment theres almost no point in taking it out in the current meta because you'll get smoked in about 3 minutes.

Personally, I play the game for history. When CVs were added, it gave the full naval combat experience. CVs brought the downfall of artillery engagements, but there was a brief period where they both existed and I think that’s the fun of WW2 sims. However, Xarkun made a fair point that ppl who only want to play artillery based combat like the game used to be, are incredibly turned off by CVs and airstrikes. I get the frustration of being singled by a CV all game, but personally I think it adds a dimension to the game that improves it over all. Still agree with Derka tho that XP shouldn’t be so high considering you’re doing zero hands on decisions for it.

Subs also existed in WWII and they're not exactly popular on PC. Atomic weapons also existed in WWII, how far do we take adding dimensions to the game? The problem is this isn't a navel simulator it's an arcade shooter. Adding things that add dimensions to the game but break the shooter aspect of the game might not be the best idea. People don't like carriers and planes because there isn't any counter play. Planes get to do pretty much whatever the hell they want with few, if any, consequences, it's just free damage farming for most of the match. Fun for the carrier player, sucks for everyone else. It would be like if Call of Duty multiplayer had one player on each team who sits in the back of the map dropping bombs on the other players and there is nothing anyone can do about it until near the end of the match, maybe. How is it fun to play a game were the other guy gets to shoot at you and you can't shoot back?

Battle carriers are now here and clearly OP but it will get balanced over time. Same thing when subs come to WOWSL.

Honestly in my opinion three major things need to happen 1) Nerf Louisiana out of all of them that thing is the best and most OP the rest are fairly balanced in my opinion. 2) Limit the amount of battlecarriers in a match to like 2 or 3 for each side. 3) Some sort of warning for the torps being dropped lol half the time don't notice till right before they drop, but everyone is so ass at dropping them right now that they miss anyways LOL. Btw the reason your torps dropped on the island is cause they drop on the last square. If you look you can see that they have like 3-4 squares then the actual solid cone those squares are the arming time the drop in the one farthest from the solid cone.

An idea for battle carriers, 1- remove both the fighters and spotters, and allow us to call fighters in the map so we could help teammates with dealing with planes, and buff the fighters ( 2 on the t6, 3 on the t7, 4 on t8 and 5 on LT), then give us CV modules on some of the slots, remove plotting room and give us aim systems mod 1 on the first slot, there you go

I enjoy playing them. I don’t have an issue against them, but there can be too many. I had one game I was attacked by a de 7 and 3 hybrids. Yes I was too aggressive but I didn’t last long. One good thing is they are great against afk players and they ruin the game far more than anything else.

They are enjoyable to play. However, i dont think ive seen a Russian BB since the CV rework. There needs to be an overhaul of old ships. I get powercreep, but some lines have effectively been wiped out.

8:13 the solid reticle is where the torps are armed (probably), there's a little... dashed extension to the reticle closer to you, that's where the torps are dropped (presumably)

Maybe nerf the torp damage in 10% and increase the air strike attack in 3 or 5 seconds. And other thing is buf all the AA, increase the AA range and damege in 5% or 10% and increase flak accurace to 10%

Maine with better Armor at long range with planes that have 50k alpha and a 20% accuracy spotter plane that lasts twice as long. USS favoritism is real and will hurt you Yall 40 percenters defending hybrids or planes in general (except provincen) are part of the problem

Once these things got announced I realized why they changed the spotting mechanics. Can you imagine the hell it would be if De 7 and the battle carriers could spot. I’ve played a few games in the Connecticut. I’m working on the mission for that one first. The guns feel very accurate. I still haven’t gotten the timing down for the torpedo drop with the 12 second delay and mostly miss. The secondaries aren’t exactly bad either.

The amount of time ive gone into a game and it seems i either get focused by the aircraft carrier all game till im dead or there is a billion torpedoes coming at you from all directions from destroyer aircraft carriers or the hybrids. I feel like they need to nerf the damage and buff flood and fire chance at least then you can make more of a tactical repair and save youre ship becaye as a battleship ita hard to get out of the way of everything while getting shot at.

Id say they should just allow one battle carrier per team just becasue ive ran into so many games where its three battle carriers a normal carrier and a de 7 makes almost every t7 battleship is made almost completely useless in that situation. I played a mtach in my kansas with that same enemy layout 4 out of the five enemies with planes were attacking me at the same time and well kansas aint the greatest for dodging due to her speed but lets just say i died 3 minutes in got 30k damage and left very satly. Ive never heard say torpeodes to port so many damn times lol

Honestly, my problem is with carriers, not with the hybrid battleships, hybrid battleships feel fair to me, they're not completely invulnerable for the majority of the match, the planes are not impossible to avoid, and for the user, they're still a battleship, if you miss your torps, you can use the big guns no problem, meanwhile carriers are just untouchable for most of the time, they're nearly impossible to avoid if the carrier player has at least three functioning neurons, AA defenses on 90% of ships barely do anything to planes, and they honestly are not fun to play against at all, hybrid battleships are, they're fun.

The visual effects thing you talked about (the strafing run you mentioned that's on PC) doesn't make alot of sense. Torpedo bombers wouldn't really shot their MGs or cannons at their target. They'd be alot more concerned with dropping their torps and running away. Yeah a warning would be great, but I feel like a audio effect like planes diving or something would make alot more sense and be alot more noticeable in the middle of a match or fight

I think it will get worse once people figure out the wonky aiming of the automated torp planes. I haven't been bothered by the battlecarrier planes. I have been annoyed trying to find the citadels on these things. I've hit several flat broadside at multiple ranges including point blank and they just don't take cits. I have got one through the cheek one time though. The only real weakness I've seen is low dpm even for a battleship and the fight deck is pretty easy for dpm cruisers to farm.

Well, they're going to keep adding new angles to the game like it or not. I've accepted that, and still have fun doing my regular shtick out there.... imagine if they had left the game with a simply larger ship base with the same abilities as say 4 years ago... imagine the complaining we'd be hearing if anyone at all was still around. Currently, my only complaint is games with a D7, 3 Nebraskas and a CV. I don't hate planes but c'mon.....limit this please.
