I recently flew a 1924 Lloyd Loar-signed Gibson mandolin to Stephenville, Texas, to meet up with my mandolin hero, Ricky Skaggs.
The mandolin is about to listed on consignment in my General Store and I wanted to know what Ricky thought about it. Like me, he thought it was special. I’m always thankful to spend time with Ricky-hearing old mandolin stories and learnin’ licks.
They say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. But in this case, a good landing is when the 1924 mandolin is still in tune 🛬😎
