Couple of things to remember. First off, Jimi recorded this long before guitarists had a board with a dozen different effects pedals. What you hear is a product of Jimi bending strings, riding the volume control, a wah wah pedal, and Jimi's immense talent. 50+ years ago's technology. SRV was greatly influenced by Jimi, damn straight, but he didn't do a slavish copy, he played Jimi's music through a filter of Texas blues. Solid cover that sounded like SRV. Jimi was a revolutionary player. When he turned up on the scene he blew everyone's minds. Often imitated, never duplicated. The Man.

Stockholm Red House is where he is most dynamic in my opinion. Crazy articulation and expression. It seemed like he was actually frustrated with his phrasing too while he was playing. But regardless you can’t go wrong with anything Jimi.

Ned from Spain saying OH MY ! fellas. There are interpretations by many great players but the original has a magic that is truly untouchable. It's not just his formidable technique but his touch, taste, colors, interplay with his band, flexible tempo, vocals with a true emotion that is remarkable and astounding. These are not just songs but his very personal, unique interpretations, visions and expressions of the world around him. Amazing as well to think of how much music he made in the very brief time that he was around. It's wonderful to see you guys hearing him for the first time you're gonna love him. You can already hear why SRV didn't even try to dishonor Jimi trying to sing Little Wing. But you hear why Jimi Hendrix was SRV's idol. This song I do believe was what changed SRV. He worked a long time to get that tone. SRV added notes in between to represent Jimi's voice.

Thank you guys! Apology accepted haha...Incredible right! Jeez, there are like 7-8 different layers of Guitar, one of them is being fed through a Leslie AND he sings through a Leslie as well! And you wanna talk about GREAT and inventive drummers, Mitch Mitchell was THE MAN! More please..."Gypsy EYES" or "Castles Made of Sand" will blow your mind, or "if 6 was 9"! Jimi also does not get enough credit for his singing! Such a beautiful & velvety tone...amazing on every level. If this means more Jimi Hendrix reactions then looking forward to that by itself but it also means you're going to discover more Mitch Mitchell. I think in any other band he might have been more famous as one of the great drummers but the Jimi Hendrix Experience was mostly about experiencing [arguably] the most gifted guitarist of all time so Mitch didn't get as much popular recognition as he otherwise would.

Still one of my favourite songs of all time 😍such a beautiful composition. I once read that Hendrix was a bit embarassed (or not confident) about his singing abilities/or quality of his voice, so he would try to keep in the low in the mix in terms of the recordings. I don't know if that is true or not, but I have always loved the warmth of his voice, especially in this song (among others) 😍

This is the incredible song that made me fall in love with Jimi and his sound. This short tune featuring Jimi's sweet, gentle and magical voice that almost whispers into your ears like sensuous laughter. I've looked at Jimi and Stevie as almost Polar opposites only because I see a very tall left handed black man and a shorter right handed white man; both were guitar geniuses in their uniqueness and natural talent. Both will always remain legends. I'm pretty sure that they have shared the stage at some point in time, maybe more than once.

Jimi was a complex, multi-talented artist who was shockingly smart and insightful about the human experience. To get just a glimmer of some of this, check out his appearances on Dick Cavett. I have no idea why he liked going on that show, but he gave some very interesting interviews as well as performances. However, I think Jimi would agree that the best way to discover him is to simply listen. Electric Ladyland from beginning to end in one sitting. It will change you, for the better.

There was a slew of top talented rock talent dying of overdoses. So much bad drugs it has always made me wonder if England's Royal Monarchy's tax collector was getting revenge on musicians on whole because their banking moved to USA. Imagine a time when USA was the 'offshore tax shelter'? For the Brits and their managers we were. Why Jimi? Black guy popular in England no taxes coming in was taking sales away from bands still banking in England. It was a theory back then. Rupert Murdoch-ski's crimes makes me want to believe it.
