With or without Michael, Doobie Brothers are one of my favorites. Friend of mine in high school had horses she kept in the Santa Cruz mountains. One time, on an extended ride, a couple of guys on horses rode up to let her know that she was on their property. It was a couple of the Doobie Brothers members, Cornelius I think. Anyway, they were cool about it and didn’t ask her to leave. They just wanted to see who was on their property. Ahh, memories of the 70s 😍

Big fan of the Tommy Johnston version of the Doobies. First saw them in 72 or 73 at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake. They were the opening act for Three Dog Night and nobody knew who they were (when they were introduced we thought they said the Boobie Borthers lol). Couple of weeks later Listen To The Music hit the radio followed by Jesus Is Just Alright and then EVERYBODY knew who they were.

Real Love by Michael and The Doobies is probably my favorite featuring Mr. MCDONALD. I used to have a routine as a chef. Every morning when I was preparing for lunch and dinner and I was alone in the kitchen, I would sing this song. It was the first song I would play to start the day and sing like I wrote it. Real Love...been married to the same lady since 1991, and I guess I can say I found it.😊

Yep ! Im pushing into my 7th decade and grew up a City Boy in St.Louis MO !! MICHEAL grew up about 5 miles away in Florrisant MO. His dad was a singer and perform in bars around town and took him along so mom wouldnt get mad at his dad ! Lucky to have my old man know every bar in town so he took me along so my mom wouldnt get mad as well ! Seen Micheal perform at one of the hang outs there as a little guy ! Always like you representing the STL with cap on ! We had Club Imperial about half mile from my house and could hear Ike and Tina Turner ! Big Bro. would wear his Shark Skins pants and go there and do slips and rip them ! He thought he was the White James Brown ! Keep enjoying my generations bangers !
