@@AirplayBeats When I was 19 years old I worked and lived at a Ski Resort in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I worked nights from 11 pm til 8 am and then I'd be the first skier to the top of the mountain every morning. I'd ski til noon, go to sleep, get up about 8 pm and put this on my turntable first thing, and start my day on the right foot, every day. Some of the best days of my life 40 years ago. 🎶 Listen to the Music 🎶

Backstory : Lester Abrams wrote most of this song along with MacDonald. The beginning organ intro is Lester oaying homage to his grandmother warming up her fingers by playing scales. He now lives in SanDiego.

In that your currently finishing up Steely Dan "Can't Buy a Thrill", I'm sure you're interested to know that Jeff" Skunk" Baxter is the featured lead guitar on most of Can't Buy aThrill, Countdown to Ecstasy, and Pretzel Logic. He joined the Doobies about the time that Michael McDonald joined and remained for decades.. Thanks for the great reviews..

Recently caught them on tour in Florida, and their set list is for lack of a better phrase, “a greatest hits set list.” My most interesting experience seeing them live was in 78. They we’re sandwiched between Van Halen (opening act) Doobie’s followed by The Rolling Stones. (Stones on tour promoting one of their better albums, Some Girls) I came away from that show knowing that the Doobie Bros. set was easily and objectively the tightest best sounding performance of the night, by a mile. Couldn’t believe how great that whole concert was or that one band could be that much better than these two rock titan’s! (Jesus Is Just Alright, It Keeps You Runnin and Another Sunday In The Park, are all Top Shelf from The Doobie Bro’s. Would love to see your reactions too all three, provided you haven’t already. Great channel guys. Doing some great stuff, regards.

Gents, I would not say that McDonald took the band in the "pop" music direction. Michael McDonald has his roots in Gospel and Soul. So I would say the late Doobies had a more Soul/R&B blues vibe, and the early Doobies had a more rock/bluegrass sound. Just my two cents..

This is still Rock, not Pop. This was POPular cause it's The Doobies and Michael McDonald!!! ❤❤This is smooth, leaning in R&B. Pop was more bubble gum A.M. Radio crap!!!😱😱Don't get me wrong not all bubble gum Pop was bad, there were some catchy fun songs and bands that were considered PoP, like the Mommas and the Papas, America, Three Dog Night, The Turtles etc.. There were many others that sucked, I might add in, Most FM Rockers didn't like and Hated Disco!!!👌👌👍👍✌✌😁😁
