@@Angarsk100 15 minutes probably not but 30-45 minutes, sure. If you've just got carry ons and checked in online to have you boarding pass the only thing you need to do is clear security. Supposing you have TSA pre you're looking at maybe 5-10 minutes through security depending on the airport. Last month I was at SFO and it took maybe 3 minutes to clear. One thing he doesn't realize though are the lounges many have access to that make showing up early worth while with their free food, showers, business centre, etc. I get this all the time I'm flying in Economy as a United elite traveller.

@@j2simpso I know... but you're not accounting for "unforseen events" Even a flat tire on the way to the airport can make you miss your flight. I'm really comfortable with a 1 to 2 hr. wait, to make sure I don't loose my flight, that of course is closely related to what impact would have on you to loose the flight. As for the stores, I almost never buy anything, they're so overpriced I also prepare to not need anything (and sometimes delay passing through security while I grab a nice coffee). The media got wind of the displeasure and the airport was forced to retrofit water fountains, and add seating nearer to the gates instead of only in the shopping areas. It cost them a lot of money because they were greedy and thinking they could force people to wait at the shopping areas with no water. Knock, knock. Who's there? 2020: 1 hour before domestic or international. It was a real ghost town going from Europe to America and back. The layover was just as empty. 3-5 minute security checkpoint everywhere.

We always get to the airport early because It seems more efficient to get through TSA lines, eat, and peruse comfortable rather than stressing about missing your flight.

I've always associate an airport as a place where it is a hassle, TSAs basically violating your human privacy rights, and where everything is priced at 300% despite it being 'duty free'. I've learn to shut down and just go through the minimum necessary to get on my plane.

Oh, man, I love you guys. That "Over here, Ed." was GREAT. I've been watching you guys since you were in your teen-K's, and it's been a thrill to watch you grow. Seen every video, and I'm proud to be here :)

My husband is an airline pilot, so I'm a frequent flier. I hardly ever buy anything from airports except for food because it's so expensive.

I was flying alone to darwin from bali, my mom gave me 500k (1usd = 13-14k rupiah). I said it was too much. She said that i should keep it, might become handy. She suggested me to grab something at hard rock at the lounge because she and her bf likes to visit hard rock cafes everytime they went abroad. So i did. The service was great, but when I'm about to pay... THE BILL WAS 428K. I WAS SHOOK. The vanilla milkshake was 129k. The burger and fries was 299k. That was the most expensive meal I've ever had in my entire life. Seriously, i could use that money to eat for two and a half weeks.

I eat food during my golden hour, so I am fed and happy on the airplane.

My crippling anxiety needs me to be at the airport three hours earlier

There have only been two times I made a purchase in an airport. The first one, my phone charger stopped working and I desperately needed one so I could get directions after landing. The second time, I had HOURS before my flight and my girlfriend at the time wanted to use that time to call me and ask why I hadn't proposed yet, so I bought a pair of earbuds so that I could talk hands free while anxiously pacing around the airport.

In mexico you always have to check in early because the flights are always oversold, so if you don't get there early they might give your spot to someone else...
