I'm the owner of the Subie. First of all I have to say thank you to Misha again for this experience, after the lap i knew what issues to adress - the week after the lap new brake fluid and a oil cooler went in plus the suspension setup was changed a bit. We then did another lap last weekend to check if the homework was done correctly 😄 new video to follow in the future. As I'm doing all the setup and mods myself i was curious to hear the opinion of someone who knows what he's doing on Nürburgring Nordschleife. So i took Mishas advices and my observations home and worked them out as good as i could 😊 Brakes need to be adressed still or again, as only the change to RBF660 didn't do the trick completely. Regarding the tires - yes they have lived their life now and and need or will be replaced for next year 😇 The temperature issues were solved by installing the mentioned oil cooler (and a temp gauge) so now the Oil temp is about 110° max after Kesselchen and water being 102° max. And yes, the engine survived the lap 😅 but i think with OE headgaskets and bolts it would have been toast 😂

the mishimoto cap is only with pressure valve and have to stay on the radiator. the STI cap on the coolant filler tank is with pressure valve and vacuum valve. Due to the difference the radiator cap cannot be used in the cooling filler tank,if they are swapped the overheading may occur!

@@alfredojarillo3146 I did a short research, most Mishimotan caps have two valves for pressure and one for vacuum, so I'm sorry, there is clearly no problem here, unless the stock one with two valves is placed on the radiator, which I don't see in the video, but if that's the case, there must also be a problem

@@elmeleegy9904 dry rot is real, the interior of the tyre will have started to deteriorate and lose structural integrity. Especially over bumps or at high speeds, the inside of the tyre can collapse or blow out / puncture. Generally, tyres can start to dry rot once they become 6 years old (from date of manufacture). Tyre manufacturers state that after 10 years a tyre should be replaced, regardless of the amount of tread depth left.

@@mrphil3446 Awesome, it clearly worked wonders! I had BC raicing coilovers, and got a 20mm front ARB / 24mm rear ARB, engine mount, and camber plates for negative camber on mine back in the day, and it definitely helped (don't remember if I adjusted caster). Unfortunately my car broke and became too expensive to maintain before I ever got to vet her on track post mods, so besides a few twisty roads and onramps, never really got to see how much the mods really helped (besides making the ride quality crap lol). You would be surprised of how many performance cars, do actually need oil AND water cooling upgrades In order to sustain prolonged periods of running them hard. Do not forget that air flow while traveling flat out is steady. If you ask for 100% by accelerating, getting up to speed and then heavy braking, the radiators don't get a big change to cool the liquids.
