The accident aircraft was a Regional Airliner built by a French aircraft manufacturer, it is a ATR 72-500 which can hold 72 passengers but in this case there were only 57 passengers and 4 crew members (2 pilots & 2 flight attendants) on board. Icing in clouds probably contributed to the accident and I suspect a mechanical issue as well.

If I had the money, an Albatross is the LAST thing I would buy. There are so many great, classic, airplanes out there. And then, to paint one in Thunderbird colors? Lame!
