Flew out of Mildenhall with the British Army on a ANG KC135 to Douglas Air Force Base Wisconsin back in 97, the built date on the aircraft was 1957, no digital cockpit and still using Astra navigation.

The US Navy had a medical detachment stationed at Mildenhall. I think they flew the Beechcraft C-12 Huron. They had space A hops between Mildenhall and ROTA Spain in the Early 90s. I wonder if it's still there?

Mildenhall and RAF Honington have the same finals approach path right over my house. Although Honington is out of use at the moment. Milldenhall don't have as much traffic as they used too. In the 60's when they Cargomasters, Stratocruisers, use to be non-stop 24hrs a day

*MONDAY MAY 11 2020 1:47 PM CDT* Normally, if the Air Traffic Control calls out instructions to the pilot, the pilot then acknowledges by reading back those instructions to ATC, just to make sure he understood. That wasn't the case for the KC-10 pilot, there was no acknowledgment from the KC-10 pilot after ATC gave the pilot the wind speed/direction and cleared him for takeoff. Just total silence after that ATC transmission at 12:11. Beautiful takeoff though. 😁 Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸✈
