Mentour Pilot did a video on his Mentour Now channel in which he projected the entire demise of Soviet Aviation. Besides the repossession of leased aircraft, he highlighted the impact of the spare parts ban. Since he is a pilot he was able to expand on the ripple effect of the sanctions. Airplanes require constant maintenance, and Aeroflot's main high-level maintenance facility is in Germany - they have no such equivalent in Russia. And even their own Russian-built airliners have Pratt & Whitney engines, which means that even those planes will soon suffer from the inability to replace key components in those engines. And, failure to maintain aircraft at regular intervals can result in de-certification from international agencies which would then prohibit those airplanes from flying international routes.

Cathay and Singapore Air wouldn’t be effected since their respective countries haven’t instituted Russian aircraft bans. Cathay and Singapore took Neutral stance on this war. They would still be allowed to fly through Russia. Not always easy with a worldwide audience and a world of perspectives. In fairness, though, and a nod to you, Long Haul’s newer videos do refer to Russia’s actions as war.

2 and half years later, Russia has become mighty strong with over 15,000 sanctions and became the 4th largest economy in the world, how is that possible
@christiaanvieweg53424 ай бұрын
Exactly! I agree with you. 16,000 sanctions mean nothing to Russia because they have the resources.

@Юрий & Ко it will take years to regain the capability and even more years to rebuild Russian airline fleets. Where is the capital to do this? Russian will barely have enough money to feed its own people.

@Юрий & Ко The USSR was a poor developing country, with miserable living conditions, no competitive economy and bankrupt in the end. That's why not a single former soviet republic shed a tear on the implosion of the USSR, except your President Putin, the dwarf. No the WEST won't scare you but sanctions will through your economy back into medival age within 1 year

All Russia laughing about this "smart decision" 1. Lease termination was initiated by leasing company. This is means company should pay fine (by international law), or internatoional law work only one way? 2. Leasing company shoud send crew for all aircraft to Russia, wich way? 3. In moment acceptance by crew this aircraft not Russian any more, how its can fly in Russian aerspace?
@MarcosElMalo22 жыл бұрын
They won’t pay a fine because there are force majeure clauses in the contract that cover this. The leasing companies are contractually allowed to terminate the contracts. There is no violation of international law because of these standard clauses.

Putin is trying to destroy a country with long term friendly relations with Russia for 'kicks and giggles'. His public stated reason is he wants to control the entire country. After that he will want all the Warsaw Pact countries back. He is a KGB street thug and hit man who wants power and has a record of killing anyone in his way. Including countries now rather than political opponents.
