Welcome to our neck of the woods. I have to say this is my favorite State of all and this is home to me, my lovely wife and two children. The fog is signature California weather in June, especially in coastal areas. By the way the drone vlog of Bixby beach was very cool. The mist added character! I liked it. (Whisper-Oh and it is Carmel by the Sea, not Caramel :-) _). I really enjoy your vlogs, thank you both! ~AJ

Agreed! No matter the weather, it's good for the soul! We have to learn to see beauty where and in the way it presents itself. I loved the foggy view of the bridge, I thought it was BEAUTIFUL!

I have say with the fog, it was still enchanting. Back in 2014, ( our first Spartan race in Washugal, Washington), we drove to Astoria, Oregan. You know “Goonies”! This was late July, it was foggy and super cold! We went to the beach, my youngest daughter hated it being that cold. So we went to one more beach, “Cannon beach” where the three rocks were at. It was so epic, the fog was moving through, it looked like from Pirates of the Carabean.

That must have been amazing!! We definitely weren't expecting the weather to be quite this chilly, but we still had an amazing time. ❤️Do you still do Spartan races? D and I haven't ever done one but we really want to. They look like so much fun!
@yisimlampiris-tremba22473 жыл бұрын
We haven’t done one in a couple years, not since Brett had surgery on one of his knees. I usually just do Spartan sprints. Brett does all the others. I’ve always loved obstacle courses. I find them a well rounded fitness. I’m not good at all of it, but I’ve also found my strengths. I’m starting to do the training for them, again. By next year, I’d like to do more on the road.✨💕❤️🌷

Daniel, I am a Chevy man, so the Z28. My little brother drove a 1969 Z28 when he was a teenager. My dad was a Ford man and he had a 1964 1/2 Mustang. Big Sur is awesome!

Beautiful place equals beautiful video! Love the Henry Miller library --they also host lovely intimate music concerts (just remember to bring a sweater because that fog can be chilly in the evening!) Safe travels!

Big Sur, Monterey, Carmel by the Sea are beautiful no matter the weather. I prefer the cloudy, overcast, or foggy skies to the sunny days. There's just something about it that's more peaceful. Too bad you didn't visit the mission. It's very calming
@Wanderlocal3 жыл бұрын
EJ, that makes total sense. The fog is really beautiful too. We wanted to go to the mission, but sadly it was still closed because of the pandemic. Just another good reason to come back soon. ❤️

You guys were in my “backyard”. Glad you loved the area- but we won’t apologize for the fog. Right now that marine layer means everything to those of us who lived through last years wildfires and evacuations. We will take it every day that we can- we need every drop of moisture right now and yes, still one of the most of the most beautiful parts of our state and even the country. Did you miss Ventana? We have some great views from up there!
@Wanderlocal3 жыл бұрын
Tim, you're so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. We loved Big Sur, fog and all! That makes perfect sense that moisture is a good thing right now. ❤️We didn't get the chance to stop at Ventana. We've heard it's stunning. We want to come back. Next time we'll be bringing the Airstream and camping here so we can easily stay longer. 🏕

Thanks so much it is great to see where I grew up through excited eyes of other people! I grew up here and didn’t even KNOW about the tidal falls. Sometimes we are too busy exploring other parts of the world you made me appreciate what i take for granted.

You did capture the Big Sur area, even though it was foggy. Hey as you know, Apple's Mac OS is named, "Big Sur". Their next Mac OS coming this Fall, is "Monterey". Love how Apple names their Mac OS's after California's Geographic Locations. Maybe a trip to Apple Park? I am an Apple fan, who is waiting for the Larger Silicon I-Mac.
