Forbes listed the airstream on it's "100 Best Things EVER Made in the USA". The LACMA recently had a vintage airstream on display. Designers are constantly trying to get their hands on one to remodel. You'll receive waves and smiles from Tin Twinkie fans up and down the highways. No white box ever received the admiration, love and respect of the airstream. (or Bowler and other amazing vintage trailers)

Beautifully cared for Brian...after all it is a home, away from home. I love those old caravans..funny I had, down under here, a little bondwood 12 foot Globetrotter...but my then wife and I went a lot of places in if for our first caravan. My second one was a 65 Viscount...and it also went everywhere but this was a 17 footer so a little bit longer, and this time we had two children to fit in whereas we didn't with the first one...lol. Viscount was a very big name in caravans in the 50's/60s down under. Something romantic about those old caravans, you call them trailers.

She’s a beauty! I’ve somehow fallen down a KZbin Airstream hole so I’ve watched a bunch of these. Finally, someone put a sectional up front. I think I’d prefer that in a practical sense. I know the goal of some is for it to not change iriginalset up, but I’d rather live with a comfu7sectional rather than a dinette and eat outside if I don’t want to use a tv table or something.

Niall nice airstream, we did have one very similar a few years ago. It was in super shape an was a good deal. The folks that contracted to purchase it were like many others and loved the look but had the interior completely ripped out and updated to a modern Airstream look. We sold whatever wasn't ruined when it was gutted and I do remember the old metal vent fan. They had the interior all done in birch, much nicer than the mahogany. Lanolium

That cult includes actors and directors like Tom Hanks or Tim Burton (both own more than one AS or Bowler). You'll see them in studio lots used as offices. Other ppl use them as guest houses, bar, food vendors or restaurants. You'll see them in movies and commercials. Airstream has it's own magazine, shows, sites, apps...crazy.

To those who don't understand what stick construction is, go to any wrecking yard and ask to see a wrecked travel trailer. Those are built like a cardboard box: strong until one area is dented, then it caves in.

Lovely trailer! How did you spruce up the older wood cabinets? Did you refinish them? I like the detail of tub and sink all in one piece, must have been so elegant when it first came out.
