The way that map to map travel will work in my prediction is what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl did all those years ago. You start in Cordon and progress all the way to NPP zone and discover The Monolith. In EFT you will start in Ground Zero and finally reach Shoreline and discover how to escape at the Terminal.

Bruh I just upgraded to 7800 x3d and I see why Streets are pay2win map. 1% lows are over 70 fps, and avg 120... And I was playing since 2017 on 8700k which was good until lighthouse/streets came out :D

​ @Suchtzocker Hold your horses. Would you consider having more FPS, thus way better chance to kill people (advantage coz it is, leaving skill aside ) just by buying better/specific hardware? And it's not even coming from fact that it's newer one. It's just bad optimization, which ruin the online competitive pvp experience. Maybe there is some other word (beside not being able to afford better pc) for that, then it's my knowledge which lacks. After 4k hours in tarkov, playing on old 8700k. I can see how a lot of situations on streets/lighthouse could be disadvantage for me, just because my fps was dipping to low 30.

I honestly stopped playing BECAUSE of wipes. I'm not a fan of doing the same thing on repeat twice a year like Groundhog Day for what is now 7 years end over end. I enjoy late game PvP more than anything else in Tarkov. Glad to know the options will be there on release. That's when I'll start playing again.

And every fucking quest makes you grind your nose against a razorblade too. Like you know running around with a t3 helmet and t1 body armour doing punisher 5 is going to get you killed in seconds, and yet this is part of the progression. MOST of the quests are designed to throw you into a nightmare scenario, were pmcs and scavs are free to kill you.

I conceptually like the map to map travel but I'm confused how the game will play. Will we need to constantly deposit or send loot to our stash, or will we need to constantly go back and forth across maps to accept, complete, then hand in quests? What happenes when we die, do we have to crawl out of a single set location and need to move out a high traffic area? Seeing how clunky streets is, if the game doesn't optimize then i might not even be able to play the game anymore, and i still want to keep playing.

Desync has nothing to do with your frames and it would be easier to tell if someone is a cheater from the players perspective

Tarkov was originally made to be a browser game and the netcode update would plug up how easily people cheat, and in switching the netcode I assume you have to optimize the game to said netcode which in turn would give you better frames right and less desync?

​@@restlessundead8606 I meant to say fixing the net code would be q great quality of life feature and i agree it needs to get fixed. Net code stuff is almost all server sided. Tarkovs net code problem is yes the player has a lot more control than they should and "fixing the net code" could theoretically fix those problems and temporarily stop the cheater problem. This still would not increase the frames however. The game like you said used to be a browser game so they need to optimize player sided client when a net code change would mostly be server sided. Servers that i should add are also very cheap because they have not upgraded their servers in a long time.

@@restlessundead8606 Cheating is easy because the game trusts the client and gives it anything it asks for. Other games only give the client what it needs to know, like an enemies position while he is on your fov. After he leaves the fov your client no longer needs to know his position. Tarkov just tells you where all the enemies are at all times. There are zero checks to see if you need the info it just trusts you. Where is the GPU in map? oh right here. Where are all the players. Oh right here. The fact they haven't fixed this means they are too dumb too, or profit too much of hackers re-buying games after they get banned. Also hackers help them push p2w mechanics because it makes people want to p2w.

Am I the only one that went in this bug: In PvE, it happened to me twice. In both raids, my gun jammed two or more time and then it did no damage when shooting. I was shooting scav in their head, unloading magazine but it didn’t hurt them. I had to pickup a scav weapon to be able to kill them. I am now confident that if you unjam your gun, their is a chance that you make it useless.

No one's talking about it because there will have to be large system changes for map to map travel to have any impact. You can hardly carry your own load out without being overweight, and the risk of staying in raid removes almost all use cases for map to map travel. It's a pointless mechanic that will be completely ignored by a near absolute majority of players. Waste of dev hours unless they make sweeping changes to how raids operate and what the goals of the PMCs are. Imagine finishing a factory raid, then hopping unto customs and getting a big red spawn. First off, that's rather immersion breaking, factory is on the other side of the map. Do you spawn all players coming from factory at the factory in customs? Do you put players traveling from reserve to shorline at the old north extract? This could get explored for the proximity to resort on spawn. This mechanic adds a ton of complications without adding any significant value to the game. Being able to plant a briefcase once without going back to stash is the only noticeable change most players might experience. Still, who wants to go into a raid with twice the ammo and weight, taking on twice the risk, just to avoid a couple minutes in the menu/stash. You will still have to wait as the second map loads anyways. I couldn't be more underwhelmed by this announcement.

Honestly, I will never play PVE. I will probably never play arena much. The hardcore PVP experience is all I am personally interested in. PVE for Me is legitimately pointless. A.I even on the hardest difficulty offers almost no challenge and feels soulless. I like to know I outsmarted, outplayed and or outmaneuvered an actual human being.

You definitely need a new cpu with high cache and at least 16gb ram but 32gb is recommended, I have a 6 year old pc and most maps run well average 70-80fps except streets where i average 30 fps on 1440p ultrawide without frame generation/upscaling like FSR. And i assume that the new unity engine upgrade wont affect older pc as much as the newer one because of cache and ram limitations on older systems

This game will never be 'perfect'! I say keep adding stuff to get it to whatever is 1.0 and polish the turd after it's 1.0. Obviously if something is ABSOLUTELY broken then fix it at the moment. Hitboxes/ armor most recently comes to mind. But to blanket say "don't add X until everything is perfect" is dumb. Like imagine paving a road and turning around every 10 feet because there's a small chip in the pavement.

Map to map travel is another example of them making updates aimed almost entirely at hardcore gamers/streamers, the average player barely survives the raid and doesnt have hours on hours to spend in a single raid. Wasted effort, stupid thing to prioritise when you cant even play Reserve because you can heard audio from an underground bunker on the third floor of a building... get your head together

They really need to make a better way to find random groups to play with. They can just improve the "looking for group" thing. Killing a teammate hits your PMC Karma, if it gets too low then you can't join random squads. You could view other players karma or rep before loading in with them. Imagine loading in with a random squad, being able to communicate all without having to join some random discord group. At this point in the game, playing solo is stupid hard. I've quit playing till they add something like I've said. BSG depends too much on people being in a discord call. You can't find people to play with or can't play in a group without it.

I stopped playing with the silly pay to win release. I have about 3000 hours and will not be installing ever agian. I hate what they did with unheard. I hate the new armor update that tightened the meta. I dislike a lot of the content creation community trying to move past it. I dont hate ita because its hiw they make a check. Most of them are nothing without this game. Airwing, gigabeef, landmark, stankrat, pest, veritas, jesse K, all of them have terrible numbers with all non tarky stuff. So I get why they kept going. I try to move on from companies when they do me wrong. I understand thats hard to do in end stage capitalism. All of this is to say, I think the tarkov playerbase is way lower. Thats why it feels like no one is talking about this. Just less people talking. I dont think its a dead game. Wounded for sure.

Lol map to map will NEVER happen. It's been almost 10 years and the games still broken and not 1.0.... If anyone truly believes they are going to implement it has rose colored glasses and smoking pure hopium.

I don't believe in them since the heard edition, I honestly like the game but the devs are such trash I won't support anything they say, even if it turns out all their mistakes were because they are just very bad businessmen I will still hate on them. I will enjoy Gray Zone for sure

No one is talking about it because no one cares at this point. Nikita showed how little he cares about the day one supporters (EOD) which were most of the player base and it turned a lot of people off tarkov. Gonna be hard to get their attention again, especially with all these other extraction shooters coming out.
