I was born a year after you. You may recall a catalog-based "bookstore," Scholastic Books? I remember like it was yesterday, reading an article in a newspaper from that publisher talking about these two shows that were coming to TV about "souped" up helos. They were obviously Blue Thunder (ABC, I think) and Airwolf (CBS). Maaaaaan... I spent EVERY Friday (and later Saturday) night religiously watching Airwolf. I could take or leave Blue Thunder. I CAN'T watch these clips without being 7 years old again. My dad's gone, now, but I can almost feel him on the sofa with me watching!!!!LOL Great memories. I'm sorry kids don't have this kind of stuff, anymore.

And skipping the tail rotor like that seems like a bad idea to me. ;-) If it should become a vent inside the tail (where the grills are located) it would be unnecessary to have such a long tail. Additionally, placing the vent that close to the body would require unnecessarily more kinetic energy than at the tip of the tail (as other NOTAR helicotpters do). :-?

The main rotors compensate for the tail with variable sweep rotor blades. Honestly the design looks kind of silly and like many concepts will never be created, they'll simply borrow bits and pieces in future projects, I once saw an civilian sector augmented reality pilot headset that superimposed an image over the aircraft controlls and outside terrain in case there is an electrical failure to the interior lights or bad weather like snow or fog, it was taken from a failed design concept of a military battlefield soldiers AR goggles.

@EvilDaveCanada2 жыл бұрын
As someone else said, a reboot would just be all CGI and the likelihood of them actually building a real aircraft are virtually nill. There isn't a real helicopter flying that could be made to look as sleek as the original helicopter. They would have to build a RC helicopter which most likely wouldn't be able to handle the acrobatics. I wish it was possible thou. Can you imagine flying that model while wearing a VR helmet showing actual real time camera footage from the model in flight!

No but seriously I never missed a single episode of airwolf as a child and then when I was 10 we moved and Mom wanted to throw away old tapes and she asked me about my Tornado documentary, Airwolf Episodes, Back to future and Christopher Reeves dinosaur documentary and if she could throw them away!!!! Yeah, there is a little bit of late 70's in there as well. A great time for TV! I agree, never boring at night as a kid. Which is funny because now we have a thousand more channels to choose from...... And sometimes there just isn't anything to watch that is nearly as interesting. Of course there is MeTV, Cozi, H&I and other channels that show nothing but TV and movies from that era. And they are doing well! That's saying something about the level and quality of entertainment today's TV producers put out.

Started getting reacquainted with the show lately thanks to the Tubi app. The Tubi resolution and audio is superb. The theme song sounds phenomenal through our Yamaha soundbar, as does every explosion and gunshot. It was and still is like a weekly movie disguised as a TV show. I still cannot believe how they put together such action with well done scripts on the small screen - until CBS as usual RUINED IT with their control freakishness. Real smart pissing off the creator with Bellasario’s track record. Goddamn it what a waste of long term potential 🤬. We have to live with and relish what we have.
