Airwolf was one of those rare television gems which was shrouded in as much mystique in production as portrayed on screen. There wasn't a lot of PR for the show. It just, "was". Sincerely, thank you for this! It brings back a lot of very fond memories!

This area is called the Superstition Mountains - shrouded in mystery before Donald Belisario (and Steve Cannell) discovered this location - it was used in "Renegade" as well.

I'm going to post this and it will be the only warning. I have banned several people because the only comment they had to make was about my mask usage. 1. The Navajo Nation has or had a mask mandate in effect at the time this was filmed. Because I was with a tour group I was required to wear a mask and I had no intention on continuously taking off and putting my mask during filming for the few trifling people who troll KZbin. 2. In the video I mentioned there were high winds that day, this created multiple sand storms. The mask came in very handy for avoiding sand in the mouth, it made sense to keep the mask ready as these storms would appear quickly. If you watched this video and your only takeaway was my mask then keep scrolling. If you comment about my mask I will ban you from my channel, it's that simple!

aaah, yes.... the folks who can only see things through their political blinders. Hard for some to keep out the sand out of their eyes. Just like the Airwolf community, we all are here to do our best to support each other. Great job on this video tour you were so kind to share!

@@andrewpelletier1199 I learned much about people during covid. Things I don't like about the human condition. Covic hit us with little warning. Wearing the mask and getting the Covid shot became a catalyst for being rude and ugly to the people around us. I'm grateful I wasn't cursed with a strong opinion one way or another. We started calling people, "sheep". After hearing that word spread like wildfire, I got to thinking: I am a sheep. I am one of God's sheep. His sheep knows his voice. I want that to be said about me, that I hear his voice and I do his wishes. I still today don't know what was right or wrong with the mask and the shot, but I do know God's love for us still reigns supreme.

I always watched the show in the 80s on a small tv. Last year I got dvd box set and watched it on my big flat screen. For the first time I got to see the 2nd season premier which had the improved Lair take off/interior shots. I was blown away that I saw that their was Anazai cliff dwellings inside the lair that I couldn’t see on my old tv. It was a great matte painting that still holds up today. Great video! Thanks for sharing this! I have always loved this area since I grew up watching westerns.

"How far down does it go?" "I don't know. I never hovered into it before." Thanks for making and posting this to share with us! I've got a little zip-lock baggie of Monument Valley sand that was a perk for subscribing to a fan-based magazine called The Wolf's Lair. It'd be cool to see it in person one day, but this video will have to fill the void until then, lol. The time/distance information made me chuckle. I knew it had to be more than "about an hour" from the "Hollywood and/or String's cabin" area, lol.
