This brings joy of😢😢😢 so many memories of all of Mr Ray Parker jr music late 70s and early 80s

The great drummer legend Jeff Porcaro always talked about how much he loved this song, and made listen it to all his colegues during his recording sessions. And he was totally right.

Ray Parker Jr, one of my first musical influences. And he's got the great 'Ready' Freddie Washington on bass; that P Bass tone is mountain shaking. #respect

Why didn't the sound technicians open the sound for backing vocals? Nonsense, they sing a lot!
@FC-xc3zy2 жыл бұрын
He probably wanted the lead voice to cut thru the chorus. It was probably not his decision. The original song was great but you could hardly hear what the chorus was saying be cause too many things was going on

I never knew Ray Parker was the singer of all these great songs I always loved from the Raydio era. I stupidly thought he had just done Ghostbisters. 🙃🙃

Ray had two incredulously great singers in his band that sang two of his biggest hits, one played guitar and the other was a singer. They made those songs super great.

While this is missing Arnell, I love the overall music of Ray Parker because he seemed to be a genuine, good person in the doggy doggy dirty music business. Ray's music was black "bubblegumish" at times but always enjoyable. He grew up around Motown and its great artist but Berry Gordy never gave him a contract. When I first heard "Mr Telephone Man" by New Edition I knew it a Ray Parker song. Love the music of Ray Parker, he seems to be one of the really good guys in the dirty music industry.

It was the first verse actually but the second half of it. The backup singer lady to the left sang in the end of the second verse so I’m assuming she forgot her part in the first verse...
