That’s because a lot of people never knew he played the guitar, they thought he just sang, on his old music videos he hardly played any guitar so he looked like just a good looking singer.

You're so right. I only know Ray Parker Jr. for his pop tunes...and good tunes they were. No doubt. But, just heard an interview with Jay Graydon, who was all over the place doing studio work in the '70's, playing and producing (i.e. the phenomenal solo from Steely Dan's "Peg" is Jay Graydon). So, he mentions Ray Parker as being one of the top studio musicians at that time. I had no idea. But, I have a newly found appreciation.
