Also, the number of participant countries in Miss World Pageant is a lot more than Miss Universe Pageant. They are considered equally prestigious. But because, Universe > World, people think - Miss Universe > Miss World, which is simply not true.

Aishwarya Rai was Miss World and same year Sushmita Sen was Miss Universe. Priyanka was Miss World, same year we had Lara Dutta as Miss Universe, Dia Mirza as Ms. Asia Pacific, Aditi Gowatrikar as Mrs. World. All pageants were won by Indians. This was start of millennium and suddenly India had all the beauty. This is a marketing move basically that's why much less people appreciated this especially after giving such a wroonnng answer Priyanka became Miss World 🤦. Watching it on TV I was just laughing but my parents were so angry she doesn't know current affairs 😆😆

It doesn’t matter who is conducting the pageant what matters is who all will invest. India is a large economy most of it has still not been fully exploited/utilised. It’s long to explain search and read. While you are at it please also read how Indian Independence, terrorism are also economic issues too. Countries try to get big events like beauty pageants, IIFA awards, World Cups and common wealth games. How a lesser developed economy gets so many weapons to attack our country? Why Bush attacked Saddam? Why politicians spend crores to sit on a chair and bear responsibility? I will stop now because related topics are endless. And these are not my thoughts these are properly analysed topics. I am sure you will find something

Speaking of Princess Diana,Rick-she was partially Indian actually (see my other post here) 😉 You didnt know that,right? It was an Indian Armenian guy at the end of 18th century,having kids with a mixed Scottish/Indian(probably Gujarati Muslim) lady.Their daughter had kids with a Scottish guy in Surat (Bombay) and their daughter moved back to Scotland and was raised by the Forbes in the Scottish gentry and got married well-and the rest is history-down to Princess Diana and her son,Prince William ;)

I'm sorry guys but Aishwarya paved the way for Priyanka - and even Deepika! If it wasn't for Aish and her International recognition and social work, I very much doubt Priyanka/Deepika would be in Hollywood today. Also I feel Sushmita Sen is a far better and more polished actress than Priyanka, who sadly didn't get her due even though she won Miss Universe and has gone onto do exemplary social work in India as well as adopting two daughters. Sushmita would've been fantastic in Hollywood, and just on an International stage. But it wasn't meant to be. Priyanka is style over substance!
