Yep, these computers "learn" you driving habits and adjust the transmission. Same with Ford car's transmissions. Drive it hard and it helps sharpen it up. Love your videos sr. Really informative. This is just happening to my 2020 ram 3500. It's got only 20k miles but for the last 5-6k miles it started sluggish. Specifically going up or downhill, it's like the truck's having hiccups. Really annoying. I, like you, use my truck for work and after 2k miles it's been married to a trailer. Has it happened to you with your newer trucks?

Oil burn, sometimes engine not broke-in and rings not seated yet, especially if you used synthetic from day one. I like to use regular diesel oil for the first few oil changes before switching to synthetic.
@pddieselpower4 жыл бұрын
I hear you brother. But all my trucks get around 1k of easy miles. No trailer miles. And then first few oil changes are non synthetic oil. So idk. Maybe there still breaking in but time will show

PD Diesel Power I always break in my fresh overhauled diesels by loading them up to max gross and pulling the snot out of them. A friend of mine who is a retired Caterpillar engineer told me that’s the best way to break in a Diesel engine. If you run them easy at the start the liners/cylinder walls will get glazed over and you will have an engine using oil.

At What mileage do you recommend on changing transmission fluid on a 4 gen

Hey, big fan. What transmission fluid would you recommend for the AISIN? I have a 2017 Ram 3500 with the high output 6.7 Cummins, and Aisin. Not deleted. I use Schaeffers engine oil; is there “all trans supreme” good to go for the AISIN? Thanks.

Had my first Aisin for a couple years now. First auto, deleted runs decent been thinking about throwing maybe EFI Live on it I bought the truck used has a delete tune on it don’t know what it is. What’s your experience with bigger tunes while running an aisin. It’s a welding rig so it runs around at 12K min everyday.
@chadfiege75392 жыл бұрын
Did you end up tuning? I wouldn't go much over 75 hp tune..on a welding rig. I've got 4 switch. Tow 45 is weak(good to stay modest with heavyloads) Eco 75 is perfect can mat around empty, shifts well hardly smokes Street 90 is real nice tho. Have to be a bit mindfull or she gets sloppy (rainy/bit Icy weather I turn it down) Race 120 is superb when you mat it..city driving is a bit too much going on in the tranny and you can tell On a 14 3500

You seem to have a lot of experience with these trucks. I just bought a 15 model 3500 with the aisin trans and it’s never been serviced ever. Trans has 180k. I’ve heard horror story’s of people servicing a trans that’s never been serviced and having problems. Should I service it or let it ride?

@pddieselpower4 жыл бұрын
Depends how many miles you'll be doing. And what kind of miles. Trucks seem to do fine till 150k and then they start giving you reasons to replace the exhaust.......... As far as whom to talk to about a 60hp tow tune. Google optimal welding and reach out to him. He'll do you well.

Yeah I was gonna reach out to him I follow Eddie too this optimal guy seems to known his stuff. Thanks man. It's mostly my daily and tow my 5er 10 -15 times a year not much else so trying to see if it's worth it or not tha.ks man
