I have an adopted sister and those are touchy subjects. It isn't fair to blame the adopted parents. One of the things I try to remember is that just because you don't think you're intentionally being hurtful or ugly, it may be coming across to the other person as just that. Make sure your words are tender and well seasoned because you'll never know when you will have to eat them.

I understand sister being upset about adoptive parents brushing off topics related to her adoption and racist comments but they apologized and are willing to learn & fix everything between them. I would totally understand if she had cut ties with them but snapping at them and saying hurtful things were totally wrong. She needs to understand that blood relation and culture were not the one who loved and raised her as their own. Also, She is the one who distant herself from them & is not ok with their apology then why she is upset about them telling her if she doesn't want to be part of their family anymore she doesn't have to?

I think if she has the right to be honest and say things that hurt people's feelings, you have the same right. Truth hurts and your intentions weren't malicious. She's acting out of hurt and frustration and not being logical. In my opinion, you aren't in the wrong.

I mean I would have done the same thing as you I'm a very much if it looks obvious and someone else can tell it I point out the obvious but I'm trying to kind of fix that cuz that's I have a lot of enemies (I'm turning into Hamilton-) mostly just kids in my class who just don't like me but in that situation it might not have been the right time to see the obvious but that's just my opinion
