Sugar rockets. Made these way back in the 1990s. They are good for cheap hobby rockets when size E engines are not enough. The biggest one used a carpet tube as the tube with some laser cut aluminum fins to stabilize it. The propellant was made of a mixture of ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate, sugar, sulfur, latex resin, iron oxide and aluminum powder. It should be launched shortly after filling because the mixture will absorb water. Also, they need to have a hollow core in order to get enough propellant burn to actually launch, otherwise you end up with a big smokebomb. The ignition system was dragon eggs fireworks pellets with extra black powder and aluminum dust mixed in. The big one was launched at Bong recreation area of all places 😅 anyway melt casting propellant bricks water main pipe sized sounds extremely dangerous as the mixture ignites not much higher than the melting temperature 😮

Riight. I live in Springfield, MO. After the Oke City bombing, the farm supply store has to know you own a farm before they sell you nitrate fertilizer. BTW, Potassium nitrate (saltpetre) is rarely used except in specialty fertilizers. Ammonium nitrate is usually what you get at the MFA.
@Mystikan Жыл бұрын
You can get ammonium nitrate from cold packs and there are videos easily found that show you how to turn it into potassium nitrate if you need it. Even if that's hard to get you can get hold of calcium nitrate or magnesium nitrate. All you need is a source of the nitro anion and a reactive alkali metal, the further down the periodic table the better. That's why potassium is the best option; rubidium and caesium would be even better except that they're extremely rare (therefore expensive and hard to get), whereas potassium is cheap and easily obtainable.

Cooking rocket fuel may get dangerous. :) I bougth potassium nitrate myself to play a bit around with model rockets, but then figured out it is completly illegal in my country.

Good explanation on how palestinian resistance build their rockets, but I just want to point out that these rockets have nothing to do with the bombing of the hospital in gaza for abvious reasons. -the explosif power of these rockets is very week compared to bombed droped by israili aircrafts that each one of them weights about 1000kg most of this weight is explosifs. The amount of destruction shown after the hosptal explosion shows that it is impossible to do so with resistance rockets. -there is a video that shows a bomb hitting the hospital with the same precision, sound and explosion that an american mk84 bomb do, and the video shows no fuel burning out of the projectile which will be clearly visible if it was a miss shot rocket.

Rocketeers, or rocket Hobbits have been making these type of hobby rockets for years, although there made for fun or as science projects not weapons here in America. And there are strict guidlines to follow when making them I'm a licensed certified High Power Rocket Hobbits. I'm retired from the hobby now, but I used to be fully involved for many year's in many types of fuel through an American Club, who had strick rules for this hobby and I had to under go training and past tests to gain my certification. We did not use Suger rockets as there called, they were completely off limits because they are extremely dangerous. If you manufacture many of them for a long time the reliability of your propellant gets better. However, there are to my variables that can go wrong and one of the worst is called a " Kato " that's simply means the rocket exploded as it launches from the pad to a few hundred feet up this can and does happen a lot with Suger rockets. I have absolutely no problem believing, with the video that one of these rockets malfunctioned and fell back to earth way before reaching apogee. One property that is unpredictable with sugar as a fuel is once the sugar ,fuel, is mixed and cools the sugar molecules continue to blend with other ingredients. Anotherwords, the longer the block of fuel sits around the stronger the fuel gets. If the rocket nozzle or core is not adjusted for this you will most likely get a Kato, premature explosion...If this happens it does not always mean the explosives go off, they might survive a rocket Kato, witch means the warhead comes falling back down on the people who launched it or a short distance from them. Please do your research before flying off the handle on what happened, don't belive everything your told especially minutes after something happens. I can almost guarantee that the news went out about this rocket explosion before the launchers even knew what caused the malfunction. The videos to me says it all. I've seen this happening so many times. Fortunately our rockets where just hobby rocks and we lost the rocket and recovery system. Note: Our hobby rockets were completely legal and we followed all local and state laws before making these rockets. Do not follow the easy to build sugar rockets you find on video or you risk grave injuries.

@josephtf31886 ай бұрын
Absolutely wrong, no one owned the land, there where Jews and Arabs living there for centuries. After the British left the UN drew up borders, the West bank and Gaza went to the Arabs, the rest to Israel, the arabs rejected the proposal and Immediately declared war on Israel. Many atrocities were committed on both sides. So no, it's not "Palestinian land" also define Palestinian, Jews, Arabs, Christians, etc were all considered Palestinian when they lived there, palestine is a region, not a state. Also Im going to assume you think Hamas are freedom fighters; they are the exact opposite. Hamas has been caught stealing aid from Gaza's citizens, Hamas uses there schools, hospitals, and banks to store weapons, not only is this dangerous for obvious reasons but it also makes them targets for air strikes. Hamas has used its international aid that was supposed to help the starving people of gaza but instead went into building a 500 km tunnel network that hamas does not even let civilians hide in to shelter from air strikes. If you oppose hamas they will throw you in prison where they torture and beat you. Hamas uses Gazans as human shields. And a plethora of other crimes that would take to long to list. And btw these are their crimes against their own people, we haven't even gotten into their crimes against innocent Israeli civilians.

Let me correct something, someone did own the land before Israel and Palestine where established. But it was not Arabs or Jews, it was the british.

Detonation is completely different from deflagration. Potassium chlorate in combination with sulfur is an very unstable and sensitive combination. While in your case is used to detonate. For example Ammonium nitrate based explosives using an primary explosive with high velocity that detonate the secondary. Like ammonal, anfo, annm, etc. It can also detonate with impact like your situation also does. But it needs an very fast impact, for example fire weapon rounds. Potassium chlorate can make very powerful rocket fuel called whistle mix. Ill make it myself alot. But for their situation R-candy rocket fuel is much more user friendly to make and uses ingredients they have around. Fertilizer is potassium nitrate. Potassium chlorate i make myself trough electrolysis of potassium chloride. But compared by black powder or sugar rocket fuels whistle engines are expert mode

A lot of people are accepting the Israeli hypothesis not because its reasonable but because they refuse to accept the possibility that indeed it was Israel who on purpose launched a misile into the parking lot of the hospital. Let's be realistic, the possibility of the event of the rocket failure getting into the hospital is highly unlikely, I would say nearly impossible. I will explain: First of all it's important to note that graphic information provided by Israel has very little value or not value at all: videos from far away, at night, images of low resolution, satelite images... Those are not only very easy to manipulate or fully create, but almost impossible to know if the images are real or not. Maybe some years ago it was possible to detect an image that had been manipulated if it was analyzed at a pixel-level by some algorith, but today I'm sure that those photoshoping detection algorithms can be fooled. Therefore the images provided by IDF will show what IDF wants. PERIOD. So now, let's analyze the version that Israel says that happened, because in order for this to happen several events have to occur simultaneously: - The location from where the rockets are launched has to be behind the hospital more or less in the direction of the rocket launch. Why launching from that location? It is possible, but it's not the only possible location and in order for this event occur as Israel said it has to be necesarily from there. If someone tells "but IDF spokesperson said that the rocket was launched from that place" I would say: obviously Israel says that, and their "proof" is an image of a city at complete darkness from which projectiles are launch, and then they add an arrow pointing at a location that indicates that the hospital is there, and the launch site is there. There are no visible elements that allow to identify the exact location, and even if they were all this can be manipulated. So at the end this piece of information is IDF telling us "trust me, it is from here" - The rocket has to fail at mid flight for whatever reason. Ok this can happen since these rockets are not so reliable. But then the rocket turns back and goes into the hostpital. These rockets have a range of 16km, so the area where this rockets can land is quite big: - Let's say that the rocket in an event of failure will travel a distance of 10km or less, and that the area where this rocket can land is a circular segment of radius 10 kilometers and an angle of 15°. This would make an area of 0,82 km². - Now compare it to the area that occupies the hospital, let's say the hospital is 200m by 200m (I have not checked the exact size of the hospital but the order of magnitude is reasonable. Also it doesn't matter if is the building or the building plus the parking lot). Then the area of the hospital is 0,04 km. - With this calculation we can get that the probability of the rocket landing in the hospital is about 1%. This is a simple calculation, but gives us an order of magnitude. Because we are not talking about a rocket failing and landing somewhere in the Gaza strip, we are not talking about a rocket landing at some random building in Gaza. We are talking about at rocket landing into the biggest hospital in Gaza. The same hospital that the IDF demanded to evacuate several times. It's not a random location, it's a target. - The rocket has not only to turn arround at mid flight and land at the hospital, but it also has to fail in a particular manner. A rocket could fail in many ways: not burning, deviating, not exploding.. But in order for this hypothetical failed rocket to produce that damage the solid fuel propellant has to explode when the rocket lands. But this solid fuel propellant is designed to burn during some time to propel the rocket, it is not designed to explode all at once. So what are the chances of the rocket failing in this particular manner. So in order for the Israeli version to be true it would be needed a rocket fired from certain area, failing at mid flight, landing directly at the main hospital in Gaza and exploding in a manner that does not correspond to the functioning design of the rocket. Do you know how is called this concatenation of unlikelly events? Suspension of disbelief. That is what happens in action movies so the movie can happen. The spectator has to stop analyzing the chances of that happening because if not he does not enjoy the movie. This is the same, in order to keep supporting Israel someone has to suspend his disbelief. Because we have not only the occurrences that I mentioned above, the guys from IDF also provided some additional "proofs": The ridiculous conversation between two Hamas members that in just one minute provide all the details that support the Israeli thesis 🤦 So not only we have a very unlikelly rocket failure, but the IDF picked that particular conversation where they provide all the details. Again this conversation can be staged, we are not dumb. The fact that IDF adds that conversation to their proof just show a desesperate atempt to sell their version, that's a lot of effort for a suposedly accidental failure of an enemy rocket. Additionally that conversation, if it was true raises a lot of questions: If they spy all the conversations so intensivelly that they find that conversation in a few hours.. How come the Israeli intelligence services where unable to detect the preparations for the attack of october 7, that was prepared during a whole year. 🤔 For me this shows that not only was an Israeli misile, but the attack was deliberate. Another argument that I have read to try to divert the blame from Israel is "if it was Israel there would be a big crater" OMG, this is so easy to refute: Israel is a very modern and sophisticated army that has access to many kinds of weapons, the more sophisticated ones and the more simpler ones, misiles that explode and penetrate or misiled with an incendiary explosion. Is someone accepts the "big crater argument" is like telling Israel that when they attack gatherings of people they have just to use misiles that don't leave a crater, then they can say "It wasn't us, it was another Hamas rocket failure" 🤦 thanks for reading
