BA is set to make way less than either Jefferson or Higgins. I'm a 49ers fan, I have no issues with ba trying to cash in. I do have issues with him calling out the front office trying to force a trade to Washington, when he and his girlfriend were doing the same thing on social media. BA wasn't selfish when he was proving himself as the best blocking WR on a team that ran the ball more than anyone else makes it pretty difficult to argue that he's a diva. SF covered their ass by drafting Pearsall. It is what it is.

At no point has it ever been healthy to keep an unhappy star player especially when your close to a championship team. Nobody wants TO doing sit-ups in the driveway, nobody wants to see Zeke running in Cabo. Nobody wants a Diggs situation, you want players that want to be with your organization.

What’s messed up is an organization will say they can’t pay a player top 3 money, but will ask for top 3 compensation from another team during trade talks. Now’s the time for the players to ask for changes to the franchise system. I think it should be 1 & done, increase the number by 10%, and can only be franchised if you have stats comparable to the top 3 players at the position in the league or certain individual team benchmarks. The owners will push for an 18th game, the players need to ask for more than just grass fields.

Star players get traded for a bag of chips because, 1. the salary cap exists and teams have to plan a couple seasons out, and 2. because the star player's contract comes with the star players. Because the team getting the star player is going to take a big financial hit and the team trading the player is going to free up a would-be financial hit, the team getting the player tries to give up as little draft capital as they can so that they can make up for the financial hit with future draft picks(instead of needing to go for a free agent).

I doubt they are "trying" to trade him. But like they usually say, they answer calls because everyone has a price. The next season he is either sitting out getting fined, or he's playing. No leverage here whatsoever. The Jeffersson deal fucked up alot, almost no other team is gonna give that kind of stupid contract (just like the Watson contract) but the players now want that. It'll probably even itself out soon enough.

Aiyuk has Zero leverage as he's still under contract for 24 season and S.F.can franchise tag him in 25 if no new contract is reached prior to 25, so all the leverage is on the 49ers side,and IF they were to trade him(not likely) they would want something of equal value in return and draft picks alone wouldn't necessarily produce like Aiyuk has ,and S.F. even stated after the recent meeting between them and Aiyuk that S.F.has NO intentions of trading Aiyuk at this time

These massive contracts are a big deal to a lot of these receivers. Each person wants to be the next guy to break the bank and make headlines. I’m sure Aiyuk saw his name up there with the likes of Amon Ra, JJettas, Diggs, Puka, etc. and wants similar money to what Amon Ra got. Which the niners DEFINITELY cannot afford and if they can they’ll likely lose 2 or 3 players in the process down the line.
