In this clip, AJ Johnson spoke about Spike Lee handpicking her for her role in "School Daze" when she was still in college. AJ explained that Spike picked actors with backgrounds in Greek life at HBCUs, and she credited Spike for helping launch her career. AJ added that with the support of Spike and Bill Cosby, her career quickly took off after she moved to Hollywood. She was so electric on screen in those early days she stole scenes without trying: House Party, Sister Act, The Inkwell. Her and Monica Calhoun should have been WAY bigger than they became. AJ kind of left Hollywood on her own terms for her fitness/life coach career but she had so much more to give us acting wise! I was in LOVE with her as a kid LOL.
