I’ve got a crush on Sully, he is the epitome of cool. I love you Sully. These are very new feelings since I’m a married man of ten years. I see him and I start shaking and screaming like the girls did for The Beatles. My wife has blocked all of Sully’s KZbin videos, but she doesn’t know about the shack out in the backyard where I keep my Sully Tuttle sculpture and his music plays on a nonstop loop. I keep a wig close by that I can throw on my Sully sculpture, that way when the guys come over I can pass it off as Molly Tuttle.

I was at the Wind Gap Bluegrass Festival years ago, and AJ (still a teenager) was doing (I think) a solo set. I said to the older gentleman sitting in front of me "That's a LOT of talent on the stage!". He said "Thank you, I'm her dad!" :-)

I wonder if Chad lugged that bass across the Pacific (you need a massive hardshell flight case, usually call a 'bass coffin'), or if that's borrowed/rented locally? Either way, it's got a beautiful thud to it.

Nice little group, and good harmony sound - though that mic could be closer to AJ's mouth level, in spots. (Step stool? :^D! ) That fiddle adds just the right seasoning, throughout. I remember seeing an ancient clip of her, barely a tween, singing in a church or something. Already had the same full alto voice we hear today, and pitch was already excellent, not just 'good for a kid'.

What happened to Scott Gates an exceptional guitar player. He has a great on stage presence that gets your attention. AJ and him sing well together. Hope to see him playing with the band again soon. I love that song they sing together "Poor Jenny".

Hmmm. eight years later and the band has shrunk, she has grown into her body and gained a tattoo, too. She is better on the mandolin than she was on the banjo. Looks natural in her arms. She is maturing very well, indeed.

Did they not do a sound check before the recorded performance? Vocals are muffled and the instruments are inconsistently present on the mix. Try a new microphone.
