I had the pleasure of meeting AJ when I toured with the guys last year in Europe. He is just as genuine in real life. He always made me feel comfortable and part of the tour. I'm sharing similar problems with my partner with drinking and it's been an inspiration for us watching his videos on his journey and growth. Bsb was my childhood and I'm so proud of aj for getting sober. I struggled with alcohol and opiates for a long time and I'm now almost 3 yrs clean off opiates and 10 yrs clean from alcohol. I still listen to bsb today as a 42 yr old woman and i take my sobriety one day at a time like aj says. What's keeping me going right now is my love for music my love for my son and if i didn't have those 2 things to help me through i wouldn't be here right now. I lost my son 9 yrs ago and i carry the pain with me every day. I struggle from manic depression anxiety ptsd ect and it's hard but some how i keep fighting. I won't lie there are times i want to just give up but i don't. I will say music is a huge part of it i used to do the same as aj and run around singing into my hairbrush as a teenage girl i wanted to be a singer since age 4 but things in life including my depression got in the way plus health problems. I was always told i had a beautiful voice but because of things i was and still am dealing with it didn't happen and it most likely won't. But i still love to sing in my apt it helps my depression alot to just sing what I'm feeling. Thank you bsb for always making my dark days brighter💜😀

Met him last year after a show in Vegas and he refused to take pictures. He was in the casino bar with howie and their friends. He was still super kind and stood talking with me, but I had a feeling he was not in a sober state. I'm so happy to see him say he gave his addiction and surrendered it to God, having my own demons and doing the same (giving it to God) It is literally the only way to beat addiction. The part where is talked about his 3 yr old and her saying her daddy didn’t smell like her daddy. So moving and touching. AJ has been through a lot, and he is so blessed! I’m happy he is open about his struggles. I have an old acquaintance who’s actually the son of one of my mom’s long time friends who I actually got to know a little more as of recently, and he’s also been struggling with addiction as well. My now friend said he has cut a lot of people off since trying to get over his addiction, and many people have cut him off as well, even some of his own family members including his sister who is several years younger than him. I know he’s been so appreciative of me not being judgmental of him especially when he first told me which substances he’s used.

I opened Aj for myself like 7 years ago, as a man, and the best BSB voice. Before their split in 2004 I was into Brian from 1996))) I knew Aj was taking drugs before, but now listening his soul speech I am shocked! hearing that all this time he was playing with drugs and alcohol! But no matter what I still love him! And his wife is my hero!!! Not so many women can deal with addicted guys! Love you Aj and I'm proud of your decision! Keep it up. Hold onto those thoughts when moments get tough. I celebrated 8 years this past April and it's funny as it doesn't get easier, I've broken one day at a time down to one hour at a time , though it's not easier I feel so authentic in my sober journey. Me and my friend meet Aj during the millennium tour. He was so good with us. And defended us when other fans tried to pick on us. He is such a beautiful soul. I'm glad to hear he is on the mend. Wish the same could have happened to Aaron. Xx
