I had made a rule for myself that I wouldn't do any villager based farms in my current single player world because it always felt at least a bit cruel and utilitarian, even knowing that the villagers are just mobs like any other. With this and your other aesthetic farms, though, I'm building a whole new villager area in a cherry grove (recoloring this tutorial to use cherry wood and stripped crimson stem) and absolutely loving it! Thank you for the design!

Barrells and cauldrons are workstations, so you may want to wait to add those until you have a farmer villager. You can also add a tunnel or such under, and move the baby villagers to a holding pen 150 blocks away to avoid needing additional beds in bedrock.

Built this today in my solo survival world. It’s a beautiful build, the tutorial is easy to follow, and the results are great! I actually had to remove the beds and stop the breeder because I have way more villagers than I need now! Sacrificing a LITTLE decoration for function, you can get a sticky piston and any movable solid block and a lever - block the adult villagers' view of the beds (top block, your head level) and they won't be able to breed anymore, making it toggleable :)

Hey AJack Great looking farm as usual. I build this on my bedrock server, and for some reason the two farmers dont breed. I tried trading with them, to lock their proffession. So I could decorate the farm like you. Feed the farmers with a lot of food, to be sure their inventory was full. Nothing happened. For the glass chamber, I found that by using a lever on top of the dispenser works just as good as a button, and also will power the tracks when you dispense a mine cart

Yes. I learnt that villager in bedrock can link to a that they can't reach. That's why you could add a lot of beds next to the glass prison.

For anyone facing some issues even after doing screenshot thing: -Don't change the position of composter, let it be inside the wall. -there is a trap door in hole (the hole to the glass prison). There is another trapdoor above that hole, you wanna open that trapdoor and farm will work properly!

If your villagers aren't breeding: Mob griefing must be TRUE in Java edition. Villagers cannot pick up food or harvest crops with mobgriefing off. There must be two open blocks above each bed in the house. Great build!

Helloo first of all, wonderful build ( this farm looks better than my actual base lol ) but I am having a slight issue I thought you could help me out a bit with... both of my adult villagers have jobs ( farmer and fisherman ) and the farmer villager farms the carrots as well. but they both don't breed they just keep jumping constantly :/ Some info beds are blocked, I let them sleep in the beds for one night

Have you tried giving them stacks of carrots to speed things up? They are willing to breed only when they have enough food in their inventory. It is also recommended to remove all the decoration blocks next to the wall so the baby villager won't get stuck inside the farm. imgur.com/a/BNIrmQw

Great tutorial! I have also built your iron farm and zombification house for my industrial district, some of the best tutorials i've ever followed and best looking builds. However, my villagers are not breeding. I replaced all the trapdoors with planks except the one in the corner, built everything exactly as is in your screenshot, but they are still pathfinding towards the bed and not breeding. I covered the gap and still nothing. Also, the farmer might be depositing his crops in the composter? Not sure whats going on, thanks for any help!

I saw someone with the same issue and I have no idea at the moment. Perhaps the only way is to let them touch the bed or even sleep for 1 night. Then place trapdoors back on the gap. I don't know why some of your villagers are so stubborn..

Technically yes and you can put hoppers under the farmland to harvest the crops. But this is not really good for efficiency..

Try to move the composter 1 block closer to the villagers. You can also block the path to bed for a short moment. Sometimes...they seem to be too obsessed to pathfinding the beds.

I Love this build, yet my villagers will not breed (the farm villager wont farm either or lose his profession after removing the composter). I’ve tried removing the composter as well as removing all trapdoors for water except for one yet they still wont breed. They are super focused on the bed too even after blocking it off with blocks. Only time they bred was when I gave them carrots manually and let them into the bed. Any idea what I can do?

I am having the same issue! They bred a ton and I got about 15-20 villagers out of the farm, but now they will not breed and are FIXATED on the bed. I tried replacing the beds and workstation but still not working. Their pockets are full and they wont even pick up any carrots I give them so I'm not sure how to fix it yet. Maybe they need to sleep in the bed? I'll give them a bed to sleep in and see if that helps... otherwise I'm not sure lol. Let me know if you found a solution!!

@@queensurgegames @impulsehelp8531 Try letting the villagers into the beds after replacing them to sleep for one night, then block them off with the trapdoors again. Add some food manually and make sure theres enough beds for the babies. Additionally, trade with the villagers to lock their profession. Those are all the common fixes, did you try those?

Please I have an issue- I followed the screenshot instruction in the bio and pinned comment, but for some reason still having issues ... some info that might help you help me! - I threw multiple stacks of carrots at the villagers - both of them are farmers - they made two babies but now no more -i am in creative, mob spawning set to true, daylight cycle set to false EDIT: i turned daylightcycle on and still farm is not working - i replaced the two planks above composter and the one next to it with glass bc i hoped the villagers would see beds better - two blocks of air above each bed, pillows closest to vilagers - Villagers are not replanting carrots after harvesting? - i move many blocks away to watch them breed, see lots of hearts, then suddenly angry marks and no babies! Please how can I fixx this? thank you! EDIT: Think I've figured it out - letting the villagers sleep in two of the beds once before blocking them off somehow helped!

Thanks for the incredible build. Unfortunately I’m now having some issues despite enacting the changes in the screenshot and looking through the comments. -The breeder worked fine for ages but now appears stuck. -I have two farmer villagers, both have been traded with. One is passing the other food but then that one won’t pick it up. -They’re both attempting to pathfind to the beds quite a lot. All trapdoors are in place and I’ve changed nothing about the beds from when it was all working fine. Have tried temporarily placing a block in the way, doesn’t appear to have helped. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

I tested it recently and I have similar issues. The farm works for a period of time and then the villagers just stop doing anything. I do believe that the issue is way more complicated than it seems. It must be something to do with the coding. It works fine if you trap them in a simple rectangular cell using full blocks. But it does not work well with all different building blocks and decorations. Could it be the fence? They would jump along the fence sometimes. Perhaps they think they can go outside. I do need to redesign this one and make a version 2.0.

I just went and replaced all the barrels and cauldrons being used for decoration with other things like a normal furnace, chests, bookshelves, a crafting table, and some note blocks as planters - and they're making babies as they ought to be. The only job block I have there now is the composter. Works great now.

Hi! I have a problem with my farm. It appears that my villagers WILL try to breed but will end up getting angry instead. And if ever they were possible in breeding, the baby villager would not try to go towards the bed thus not falling into the glass prison. I really need help! :(

Are there "angry" particles around the villager when they fail to breed? It means there is not enough bed to breed since the baby villager is still there. Did you try the solution in my pinned comment? Observe the baby villager at night. See if he is just spinning on the trapdoors instead of going to his bed.

I have the same issue. The villagers were jumping on the chest (eventually took the chest away) and crowding around the doorway to the beds so the baby couldn't get thru and drop into the collection chamber. I'm wondering if the doorway needs to be bigger so the baby can get by the adults. Problem is, that it it'll mess with the dimensions of aJackMinecraft's design. :(

Do i need to feed them anything for them to breed? and do they need to be able to have access and sleep on the bed for it to work? Genuinely confused about this part. Because my villagers get stuck at the doorway....

Current issue I'm having is they won't breed. They just jump up and down against the wall.

Try to block the entrance with a full block then break it. I have similar issue and this should do the trick.

Thanks! This one actually works on Bedrock. You just need to add more beds in nearby area. Or you could use water to send the baby villagers >150 blocks away.

Update - so far this has been an issue for 2 of 4 baby villagers. The other 2 pathfound into the glass cell no problem.

In bedrock Edition you need to have a minimum distance of 96 blocks, from your iron farm. To avoid the villagers in the iron farm to Connect to other beds.

Built the farm and it looks great! But im not sure that mine works as it should… the farmer actually harvests carrots and picks them up but i dont see my villagers breeding… do i have to wait until the farmers inventory is full or how can i solve this issue?

Villagers don't despawn but zombie villagers do. They were killed by mobs somehow. Check your lighting, and gates.

If you have enough villager for your village, you could flip the trapdoor above the drop hole and remove the "glass prison". This house will be simply a nice villager home. :D
