I'm Aja Dang and this is a vlog that has been over two years in the making.... I flew to Nashville to do my debt free scream with Dave Ramsey! After reading Total Money Makeover and deciding to change my life by getting my finances in order, the main thing that kept me going through those feelings of frustration and self doubt was that I was determined to pay off my loans in order to do my Debt Free Scream in person. It almost didn't happen due to brand payments not arriving on time (shocker) but the money gods were on my side and a major goal in my life has been accomplished.
Hopefully this video will inspire you to keep going on your debt free journey and NEVER EVER EVER give up.

Hi Aja, My husband and I have been on a home buying journey and realize that we are so not ready because of all of our debt and my school loans. "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by your renewing mind." That's 100% what a debt-free journey is. The pattern of this world is to stay burdened by debt, so the act of getting and staying out of debt is to continually renew your commitment to a different path.

Girl, I admire you're hard work! I have been through a roller coaster of job loss at the end of 2019, but I'm now set up income wise to make significant headway in my debt. My goal is to pay everything off in 4 years (including the house), which is very do-able, possibly sooner, but it's like I keep getting bogged down with backlogged expenses for new tires, vet bills, taxes I'm gonna owe in April, plus I'm stuck in this mode of feeling like I'm making up for lost wages buying bulk groceries and home supplies.. You are 100% correct that focus and maintaining motivation is the key. That is my current struggle. I need to let the dust of 2019 hurry up and settle so I can get a move on 2020 and end up ahead!

Dave says that you have to always remember WHY you are doing this in the first place... those "So that.." I am paying this card SO THAT I can be debt free... SO THAT, I can start working on a retirement account SO THAT, I can have a quality life in the last years of my life... or SO THAT... (fill in the blank) and of course, visuals are always a reminder of how far you have come after the effort is done... a reminder that keeping the track will take farther than you can even imagine....really motivating!!! It was good to know that the next step after applying Dave's book is to read Everyday Millionaire!! I will start that ASAP... Congratulations again!!

I definitely teared up when you did your scream. I'm so proud of you and happy for you. I think it was a video about you on Facebook from the very start of your journey that really inspired me to look at my student loans and confront them. It was also around when I was graduating college and realized I had all this debt waiting for me. Been really trying since May 2018 to pay my debt and feels like I've made no progress. But watching you really motivates me and makes me want to buckle down and get it gone.
