I watch Ajahn Brahm and Ajahn Martin on a daily basis seven days a week... 365 days a year. It’s like being on a yearly retreat. I go off on a tangent every now and then to listen to Ajahns Bramali, Sona, and a few others. But it’s Brahm and Martin that I humbly seek out. My practice is sketchy and far from where I want it to be, but I can’t imagine my life without it. These talks is the spring from which I drink to stay afloat while I’m alive.

you have been deceived by the demonic Buddhism. you apparently speak for the devil, asking people to follow Buddhism. you walk in darkness, without the light from Jesus Christ. if you really want to follow Jesus Christ, i advise you to give up anything related to Buddhism. may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you.

Light Seeker you have been deceived by the devil behind Buddhism to say that I am arrogant. I am not because i admit i am a sinner and i cannot save myself using my own effort; I need the merciful God to save me from eternal damnation in hell through Jesus Christ; by accepting Jesus Christ as my savior and Lord, all my sins have been cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross; now I am a child of God and have eternal life. i do not boast about myself; if i have to boast, i can only boast about Jesus Christ for His glory, power, love. do i know about Buddhism? yes, i do. it is a demonic religion which has deceived many Buddhist slaves. it gives Buddhist a false hope, making them think that they can follow the way or the method of the deceived Buddha to free themselves from sufferings in their so many cycles of rebirths and deaths. first, there is no such thing as reincarnation which is simply a demonic lie. second, the method of Buddha cannot remove their sins. Buddha was not able to cleanse his own sins; so, his sins cast him to hell with eternal damnation. any one following Buddha or Buddhism will also be cast to hell by his/her own sins for eternal damnation. Jesus Christ is the savior able to cleanse your sins !

I'll be the first to tell you that I don't know everything about Buddhism. However, from what I do understand it's: A. Not a religion (other than for tax purposes). B. Siddhartha Gautama Buddha stated he was nothing but a man and to not take anything he says for face value. With taking the Buddhist philosophy and not some of the more mystical teachings of other schools I see no reason why one couldn't be a Christian & Buddhist at the same time. They don't interfere. It would be like saying that all self help teachers are Demonic. They aren't offering religion, They are offering a better understanding of the human nature. I just never understood why Christians offered so much judgement and hatred to Buddhist. The teaching of the Buddha and the teachings of The Christ go hand in hand quite nicely (other than the added road to salvation taught in The Bible). But the Buddha wasn't offering a road to salvation (You don't have to believe in reincarnation to follow buddhist thought). He simply defined human suffering and showed a way to stop grasping at things that cause suffering. Something I feel many Christians would benefit from. Much love! :)

@113589467012393876537 you have been deceived by the devil behind Buddhism, not knowing what you are talking about. Buddhism not a religion? there are many people in different countries bowing down, even with food offerings, to Buddha statues erected at different places; some Buddhists even called Buddha as Buddha god. Buddhism believes in reincarnation, and that one can be freed from sufferings via doing good works ? a REAL Christian canNOT believe in those Buddhism nonsense; The Holy Bible says the almighty God is a jealous God who will curse all forms of idolatry; indeed you have been made blind by the devil of this world, not knowing that you are following the devil behind Buddhism which has deceived many people thinking that they can be saved through the method of Buddha.

Ajahn Brahm, one of the greatest story tellers that's ever lived. I've heard this story dozens of time and never tire of hearing it. I've always wondered how he does it. One reason is he's so calm and so relaxed. And when you're calm and relaxed, it means the absence of fear. The second reason is the joy he seems to receive when he tells these stories. He's just beaming with laughter. I'm sure there are more, but these are the two that come up for me.

The story of the old monk, so simple and yet gigantically profound. The arrow of craving. I have been so guilty of this arrow, shooting it here, shooting it over there, shooting it here again, and over there again, unceasingly, day after day, year after year ... even to this day. How I long to be free of craving. But then, this longing to be free is once again, the arrow of craving. Is this a lost cause? Certainly not. Just be here, right here, going nowhere, being no one. Thank you Ajahn Brahm.

Thumbs Up super awesome & cool Ajahn Brahm! You are my inspiration and guidance forever! I love Buddhism's attitude as well - not trying desperately to convert people. People have the right to believe whatever they want to believe, and don't need to be told "I am the only one and everyone else is bad" - cut it out!

Attainment of sotapana and free from being born in 4 woeful existence. How one experience it? Entering magga phalla(disconnections of samsara existence) and emerge from magga phalla. The moment when it occure: My personnel experience while in vipasanna sitting meditation this occur and I will share to those who may find interesting. Vipasanna meditation on the moment of magga phalla and then return to samsara existence again on how it occur during that moment. From Samsara to magga phalla to samsara. 16 Vipasanna nanas or 16 mindfullness knowledge aroused while contemplating the breath explaination made simple. Nibanna is like walking up 16 stairs step to reach the top floor. One will start from the first stairs. Lifting the right foot stepping on the first stairs letting go of the left foot from the ground to let it step on the second staircase. Upon the second foot secure stepping on the second staircase one has to LET GO of the first staircase to use the right foot to step on the 3rd staircase until one reach the 16th stairs. Similar like from first samadhi to second samadhi to third samadhi to upeka. Similarly the practice of vipasanna apply the same way as like walking up the stairs till step 16th(16 vipasanna nanas) Upon reaching the top floor one can now take good rest in his room. One will have to return to the ground floor, the first step to begin now will be the last stair which is the 16th stairs. The way to decent is from the 16 to 15 to 14 stairs and so on. Similarly when one attaiment of magga(fruition) it is like one already on the highest step. After magga(path simile of the 16th stairs) it will reach phala(fruition simile as reaching the top floor) one is an enlighten being. Usual occurance after magga phalla, one will have to return to presant samsara conditions and that means like walking down the stair case start from the 16 steps to lower stairs. Similarly one who practice vipasanna and reach the highest path will need to return from the path back to this samsara existence. In this case he has to return from the magga phalla to continue to live in samsara until his balance karma energy are exhausted. So to say, one can realize very clearly these steps to magga phalla where the mind shuts down and he know when he is stepping down (start from the 16th) to return to mundane existence is similar to the simile of the 16 staircase walking up and walking down again. So one can know in this way one is a sotopana after nirodha(Ceesation of conciousness or concious shuts down) reaching magga phalla(mind now completely shuts down while in vipasanna sitting meditation) and nibanna(magga phalla is not a state of mind. It is out of human conciousness nothing in relation to mind and body and the buddha explain it in this way that nibanna simply is unborn, deathless and uncondition) No sufferring exist in NIBANNA. CONCLUSION: The 16 stairs we refer to the 16 vipasanna nanas: And after attainment when the mind shuts down you enter into nibanna(you will not know as you are momentarily already cut off your existence from Samsara) Now you are in nibanna(as conciousness already vanished at magga you do not know as already no existence conciousness) When after nibanna, you return to reawaken in this dream of existence in samsara and in the state of vipasanna samadhi, and here at this moment you still do not know you have return from nibanna to samsara dreams of existence as you are dwelling in strong state of samadhi where your mind now is filled with whole body pleasurable vibrating sensations and you are fully adsorption into it. This whole body pleasure sensation will gradually subside and you will now be in lower samadhi where your mind is bright(still in the mind state of samadhi) mind is free and relaxing no problems with regards to keep focusing on the breath as now what so ever on breath to watch rising falling all seem automatic.(in samadhi or in jhanna absobtion filled with whole body pleasurable sensations) At this moment the mind is free bright and peaceful just like driving with(in samadhi) Then suddenly there is occurance of recollection when one start to remember. One begin to remember there was a break in his sitting vipasanna meditation where the mind are suddenly shuts down. Here is very important and the most difficult to explain because this is the moment of the last truth of the 4 noble truth one has reach and now realised its taste. My attempt to explain it will be like telling a story that ends with possibily nobody will understand it. But that is the real story of the moment of reaching magga and phalla. When the moment the mind enter path or magga is 14th vipasanna nana and phalla 15 vipasanna nana it shuts down. No more existing in samsara existence so no more mind and thinking are stop. No thinking thus there no more mind. After that occurance is over, one will return from the top stair to walk down again from my simplified explaination on how one will see at that moment. He saw before and after and he remember it now as in his mind everythings is very clear. He now realise he has reach enlightment or he has attain to magga phala and the mind is now peaceful, happy and bright. The happiness feeling of that attainment can last numerous days. And all dhamma now aroused in one who is Ariya. He is now a SOTOPANNA. May this sharing be the road map for everyone and as the ariya of the past phrase it in this way they say 'WORTH IT' Wish everyone will strive one digently. Vipasanna the sure way leading to nibanna. The BUDDHA say this is the only way and no other way. And he say 'AHEPASIKO' Come friends and experience it yourself and you will know like I have known. And the last advise of LORD BUDDHA..... APAMADE SAMPADETA meaning Behold, O monks, this is my last advice to you. All component things in the world are changeable. They are not lasting. Work hard to gain your own salvation." Apamadesampadeta. BUDDHAM SARANAM GACCHAMI.

Even when I'm doing nothing, I'm not happy. I feel sleepy, restless. And when that happens people complain that I'm being a bum. FUCK. And when I try to fulfil goals or learn a new skill it's so hard, I don't pull through the whole process. Why do something your body and kind doesn't want to do? ARGHHHHHHHH. Consciousness is pointless.

I find some of these sentiments troublesome to the concept of an industrious life, if only for the good of others. But even if lived only for oneself, so long as it is done so with as little harm to others or conscious depreciation, that too may be considered a "good life". If by wanting to be someone, going somewhere is held as the peak of a lived life, it seems to me this very message could cause harm to, for instance, a person with a passion for engineering or art or performance. Should we encourage them, then, to avoid pursuit of such things? I think not.

I think it's about the difference between say becoming a doctor because you have been led to believe that will make you loads of money, versus wanting to become a doctor because you want to help heal people or animals, and maybe you make nice money anyway. But it goes even beyond that. If you think you have a talent for healing, are you going to go out and have compassion to assist people heal even if you do not manage to get into medical school? Or if folks are not going to call you 'doctor' or any others concepts that you may have attached to the idea of being a healer.

Ego and craving to be is the problem of fear and suffering. When you are nowhere, you actually are beyond time and space. the reason for desire if existence or non-existence is because we are diluted by the five senses. Go beyond them, do you want to be in a corner of a dark house or do you want to be on the top of a mountain? Go beyond that, go beyond being defined by location. You will be no where and total free of limitations

Regular Buddhist do have a goal: enlightenment.but how to reach the goal? Be kind and relax all the craving for goals and fear of not reaching the goal. for career, you set a goal: do my job well now, get along with my coworkers now, be kind now. If I did not do well , that is fine. What done is done, and you will have the save goal tomorrow. Write a PERIOD to your everyday life at the end of every day. The next day is another brand new day. If you are capable and you work on your everyday goal like this, you will achieve and get promoted naturally. Suffering comes when we set a goal and crave for it every day. We want to be someone and crave for it every day. Seeds needs time after being planted. different seeds needs different time. Plant it, water it, don't set a goal for this seed to become a huge fruitful tree in a certain time. Do your caring, let the seed go with nature.sometimes seeds fail to grow because if uncertainty, that's fine. Keep planting good seeds, one day it will be certain.
