Thank you for question. If you have chosen to mount a hard-wired contact to the outside of the door-frame, or the inside of the frame if it is a flush mounted contact t… you then wire that contact into the transmitter portion of the wireless contact. As such the wireless transmitter can be mounted to the surface of the walls anywhere around the door. If you are mounting the wireless contact as using it as a wireless transmitter and contact, then one side (one with the reed switch) should be mounted on the door frame using the crews that are provided. The magnet portion is then mounted to the door itself using the screws provided. Make sure to respect the gap distance and spacing clearance when mounting the 2 sides of the contact.
