MDNA felt like she was desperately trying to keep up with all the reigning Queens of dance pop instead of realizing that she's a Madonna and there's no need for any of that mess. Without a doubt, Ray of Light is a masterpiece of an album. The fact that it did not top the Billboard 200 chart on its release is a shock. Confessions On a Dance Floor, True Blue, and Like A Prayer also are up there among her best. I’ll say the fifth would be Erotica due to how controversial it could be, even with its great songs, but Music would be a good alternate.
