"Gaga's hella religious, isn't she?" THIS!!! I think it's funny how the media portrayed her to be satanic and anti-religious when it's obvious that she's not if you pay any attention to her song lyrics
@ra27893 жыл бұрын
and i don’t think she’s like super religious, i think she’s more spiritual, likes she believes in god and jesus but separates herself from the church because the church can be hurtful, y’know?
@joelagg64033 жыл бұрын
@@ra2789 religious and being close to the church are entirely different tho. Like Gaga is pretty deeply religious, we’ve seen her incorporate God into her speeches (i.e. when she thanked god first at her Grammy accepting speech) the sign of the cross/faith in Bad Romance, all of Judas etc.
@ajgerbi Жыл бұрын
@R A. Lady Gaga was actually pretty religious though. What you said may be more accurate today, since we haven’t heard much about her view on religion. However, it was pretty common knowledge that Lady Gaga was a very religious Catholic atleast early on in her career. She was pretty open about it, and I’m pretty sure she would have her and her entire staff do a prayer before her performances back then. However, she definitely has always had a more progressive view of the church and doesn’t blindly follow everything the church tells you to follow, this album being a perfect example of this since.

To add to your comments on Americano, there was more to the song that you missed. The song is half in Spanish, and half in English, because the song is about her falling in love with a woman who was also an illegal immigrant. She wants to marry her because they're in love, but also for her lover to become a citizen. But same sex marriage was illegal, and ICE was coming to deport her partner, so they ran away together, and the song ends with her saying "Don't you try to catch me, I'm living on the edge of the law", and a gun shot. I always imagined the video to be sort of like Telephone, where she's running from the police with her lover.
@chriiiiisco7 жыл бұрын
And with Scheiße -- the word is German for "Shit" --- she mentions in the chorus that she wishes she could be strong without this "Scheiße/shit" and then goes into the verse where she speaks fake German. She mentioned in an interview that the fake German was supposed to be symbolic of the "bullshit" she hears from the men around her, who are threatened by her being a strong woman.
@cristopherperalta7 жыл бұрын
christopher morton damnnnnn boy I didnt know about that story and I speak spanish... it sounds AMAZING
@chriiiiisco7 жыл бұрын
Well, I mean she doesn't explicitly say it, but "I met a girl in East LA, in floral shorts, as sweet as may. She sang in 8ths and two barrio chords, we fell in love, but not in court." -- and then she mentions how she's gonna fight for their love, and "I don't speak your Jesus Christo", "I don't speak your Americano", alludes to religious beliefs against gays, and Americans having issues with Mexicans, and Spanish speaking. She also mentioned that the song was about gay marriage, and immigration laws, so one is led to believe that the storyline is about her falling in love with a woman who's also an immigrant. Although, it could just be my interpretation.

Marry the Night & Edge of Glory are my two favorites! The last one you listened to, Edge of Glory, was actually written in memory of her grandpa who passed away a few months prior to the releasing of that song.

IMO "Heavy Metal Lover" is extremely euphoric.

Born This Way > Joanne. I hate people who can't understand the bizarre avant-garde Gaga and just wanna see and hear a normal person. She was different from anybody else back then and that's why she was the best singer of all time.
@guppypuss7 жыл бұрын
I love both albums! Born This Way was a very artistically free album. Joanne is a more personal album. I wouldn't mind if she goes back to her monster roots.
@ronaldososa7 жыл бұрын
I do think Born This Way is better, but Joanne is not that far from it, they are both great in very different ways

ReligiousHooker if you were a fan, you'd appreciate her Joanne as much as the rest of us do. It's pure, acoustic, and personal. Sorry if your used to auto-tune shit. All of her albums are amazing just because Joanne is different doesn't mean it's bad.

Opinion of every track: Marry the Night: Makes me feel a true girl power. Born this Way: *ANTHEM* Government Hooker: Bad bitch mood *ON* Judas: TIMELESS SONG Americano: Beautiful story trough a party vibe. Hair: My least favourite. The message is such a bop itself. Scheibe: BAD BITCH MOOD *100%* Bloody Mary: religious ritual. Black Jesus+ Amen Fashion: I'll never regret being christian. Bad Kids: I really felt the message. Highway Unicorn: Power fantasy Fashion of his Love: 80's vibe that i love Heavy Metal Lover:Kinda weird but, still a bop Electric Chapel: My favourite. The guitars, the religious sounds and vocals. You and I: SO STRONG The Edge of Glory: SO POWERFUL. The intro is immaculate.
