Great video AJ. Don’t forget step free access is not just people in wheelchairs, but prams and buggies and people with reduced mobility who could trip over stairs. I wondered how they were going to cope with the ride height so thanks for the explanation.
@HeyItsAJOmega2 жыл бұрын
Yes of course! I think I default to thinking of wheelchair users and mobility aid users first when thinking of step-free access as I know quite a few folks and close friends who use and require them. But you're absolutely right, and honestly I really like that they have adjusted the platform heights for step-free access while also keeping the original platform structures and architecture intact!

@@HeyItsAJOmega - We can agree to disagree about the ashes ;) This is something I am going to pass on to my father since, before he came to Australia, he used the District line in addition to the Southern Region in general. He still remembers the sounds of the 4CORs and the like in service.

Can’t wait for more excellent ASAM episodes (hopefully!), warmest regards to you from Hastings! @@HeyItsAJOmega interesting. Mustn't have had much room to play with
@C4552 жыл бұрын
The issues were mainly to due with the width and length rather than height - the 484s are much longer and wider and anything longer would've had issues navigating the bend in the tunnel and at Esplanade.
