I like the little German 4 wheel Diesel railbus which they use for the first couple of trains on less busy days. Has been on the K&WVR for much longer than it was used by BR.

You briefly mentioned Worsted in relation to yarn, and I’m actually from very near the area where it gets it’s name from! Worsted in Norfolk is where it was first made back in the 14th century 😊

Yorkshire actually had the first standard gauge heritage railway. The Middleton Railway in Leeds began volunteer operation before the Bluebell.
@HeyItsAJOmega
@HeyItsAJOmega 2 жыл бұрын
It was in the same year, arguably by a matter of months, and the Bluebell was the first to actually start a heritage operation with regular passenger services running. I guess, if you want to be really technical. Of course, the Tallylyn Railway in Wales has both of them beat for being the first heritage railway operation altogether xD

Just a little nugget of info, 41241 is painted in the red livery because when she was originally preserved, BR didn’t want 41241 to be painted in any iteration of the BR livery. So the KWVR had to come up with its own livery for her to carry on its inaugural run!
@diabeticlifewithtim3145

Damems is also the shortest station platform in the UK (not to be confused with the shortest on the national rail network). It’s not the shortest platform though, as there are halts on heritage lines and the national network (Berney Arms in my home county of Norfolk for example) which is why I make the distinction between station platform and just platform. The NNR has a halt at Kelling Heath holiday park (which is something like 40 feet long I believe). I think the correct distinction for Damems is the shortest platform with regularly scheduled trains, whereas Kelling Heath Halt on the NNR is a request stop, with only diesel trains being able to stop in both directions, and steam only able to stop on the return from Holt to Sheringham due to the severe 1:80 gradient up Kelling bank towards Holt.

Hey AJ I’m learning quite a lot from watching your train videos especially your steam train videos. I love steam train personally myself they are by far my favourite type of trains steam trains and speed trains as well. I’m actually planning on getting more model trains myself mainly because I do have a model railways built for 00 gauge and H0 gauge trains that I want to try and and get back up and running again with the help of my dad. Speaking of model trains and model railways I hope you don’t mind me asking but when will we see another episode of small train chronicles I love those videos?

@@HeyItsAJOmega thanks that explains it. I didn't know Stephenson was such a devious character. The only thing I would say in his defence is the Rocket itself was the superior engine in it's day.
