Watching this well filmed video at home here in Australia. I must say that I am envious of all the various well run and operated railway preservation societies in the UK. I am in my early 60's now and I hope to visit before I get too old to enjoy it, well done.

If a pacer can do station shuttles while a main train does full line that is quite good

Excellent piece of work. Intelligent (and silent) commentary. Very steady shots. No frenetic zooming. BUT! A loco isn't a 'train'.
@HenrysAdventures5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and glad you like it. Not sure where you think I'm saying a "loco is a train" as that's something that annoys me when I hear people calling a loco a train!

A light engine (ie loco without any attached rolling stock) is effectively a train whilst running on signalled track.

@@HenrysAdventures the moaner whinging about what was running. They do not appreciate the work that goes in to running events, which are getting harder to organise, especially as coal is getting very hard to source, and what they can get is expensive and poor quality. Soon all the steamers will end up as static exhibits unless they can be made to run on biomass. The sad truth is to some so called enthusiasts, they only want kettles, anything post 1960 is rancid to them. It is the same with bus preservation, if it isn’t some old half an, it should not exist to those muppets

Pacers preserved. Why? Because of their awfulness?
@HenrysAdventures5 ай бұрын
Because of their place in railway history, they have plenty of fans and a number of railways would have been closed had the Pacers not been built.
