So I have discovered that Ajing rods are dynamite for Spotted Bass. Especially using very light weight plastics or hair jigs with a drop shot technique. If you want to feel them breathe on the line, these are the rods to try... Thanks for the videos Randy..!!!

My very best go-to dock-shooting rod is a Major Craft Triple Cross TCX-T682-AJI. Best. Shooter. Ever. It is all I use when dock shooting crappie, i.e. bending it back like a bow and shooting a small jig way under there.It is super accurate, and that stiff fast action really launches a jig. After the shot, the sensitivity really shines on retrieve, and the backbone lets you get that fish out quick. Fantastic. I know it is borderline abuse of a JDM rod, but the TCX has taken it in stride. Thanks to my friend Scott for showing me the way.

Thanks for watching Joe. I'm still in awe of you all using those for dock shooting. But hey it works. I know they don't have any in stock but I was thinking the new Aji-Do rod might also be very good at dock shooting with the T1100G blank.

Randy, my finetail just came in the mail. Shipped Wednesday night from Japan through fedex and here it is in California on a friday afternoon. Didn’t even pay a penny for shipping through digitaka. The camera did not do this rod justice. This is by far the most beautiful rod I own. I know its no rayz spectra, but for $150 I can’t imagine theres much better stream rods in this price range. Incredibly light and delicate. Incredibly premium components. Incredible color and quality. I haven’t even fished it yet and its already my favorite rod. I have to thank you for your recommendation and guidance. The brown accents on the paint under the guides and the green from the handle to the first guide is beautiful. Love the wooden handle. I haven’t unwrapped the plastic from the cork but I’m sure it has a premium feel. Looking forward to more affordable rod reviews that the average joe like me can purchase.

Thanks for talking about ajing. I own a few but all are between $100 and $200. I like them for fishing still water from a kayak since they often have a very wide lure weight range. Gives me flexibility because I don't like bringing more than 2 rods, sometimes 3. Never use them for stream fishing, since I don't feel you can cast accurately with them. I have yet to use one for their intended purpose.

Horse Mackerel (Aji) are indeed very tasty, they lack the pungency of other "blue" fish like regular Mackerel (Saba) and Sardines (Iwashi), but have a bit more flavor than trout. People tend to fish for them from dusk and into the night using 0.5g - 2.0 g jigheads with 1-2 inch worms and I look forward to trying to catch them one of these days.

Love ajing rods, but I use them for what they were designed, occasionally I use them for european perch fishing, btw one is on its way from japan atm Xesta Xtra tuned S64UL-S SEMI-AUTOMATIC can’t wait 😁🤦🏻♂️

Xesta extra tuned 64UL is soft solid?
@audriulis2 жыл бұрын
@@aimiliosgourgoulis4453 yes, but its faster than their tz tuned model

@@audriulis I'm in between Xesta Xtra Tuned 64UL and Xesta Second generation 511-S Sricpt sensor 0.2-5gr. Or some GL Corto with same characteristics. Whats your opinion my friend ? I'm into ajing also but in Mediterranean sea.
@audriulis2 жыл бұрын
@@aimiliosgourgoulis4453 Between GL corto and xesta xtra tuned, I think you get more for your money with xesta because of tz guides, but the difference will be minimal in performance, both hard solid fast rods with corto being a bit faster. Tbh its hard to say as I only fished once with corto GCRTS-642L-HS and it was my friends 🤷🏻♂️. When it comes to 511 I never had it in my hands , so I can’t comment on that sorry
@aimiliosgourgoulis44532 жыл бұрын
@@audriulis Thanks for your reply, I know I get more from Xesta than the Corto. I thought to be honest that 64UL was softer than the other two! We will see what I buy.

Randy, do you use cork sealer on your rods ? Do you think that cork sealer affects the sensitivity of the rod ?
@troutmagnetman2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching.....I have used the U40 and no it does not affect the sensitivity of the rods.

Have you have any experience with Favorite rods? They have a good series of rods, blue bird and a cheaper version white bird, I'm now looking for a rod for ajing, and I think some models have what a ajing rod needs. Any information will be helpfull. Thanks.
