AJJ seem like really nice guys. It's always great when everyone has their own eclectic tastes like this.

I feel like that's the pure Spirit of this series. The most interesting episodes are like this, and then when I listen to whomever is featured, I try to parse out the different influences, to see if I can hear em, and often, I can! It's fun for me, and also really drives home the point of all music being connected in one way or another, just like us as people!

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's music and singing was incredible. He wasn't just 'holy' music though, he did Bollywood girl-meets-stuff as well as collaborating with Peter Gabriel, Eddie Vedder and was even remixed by Massive Attack. Incredible artist. And a good What's in my Bag!

That Branko Mataja record is insane. His story is as beautiful as it is heartbreaking. I consider myself to have a profound Love for Music, and Guitar especially, but, to build your own, having never done it before, while imprisoned under unfathomably inhumane conditions is just astonishing. He created a unique and singular work of Art. It sounds like the whole album was recorded with a ring modulator, and feels like you're waltzing at the bottom of the ocean. I've never heard of these guys, but their varied tastes resonates a great deal with my own, and they articulate their experiences of the music in a detailed and relatable way. I'll be checking them out.
