I got my Vortex a week ago or so , I just got two new 6500 Zee batteries and off road tires but I am pretty sure I will do the 4 wheel drive conversion kit soon but I am looking on the engine upgrades 😆 but this stalk engine I have now is pretty fast for me as of right now

What grease did ya use , is white lithium grease safe on the plastic gears .....

Lucas oil white lithium grease. We’ve used it for years and never had an issue with our RCs. 😎👍

It shouldn’t affect the steering. I would recheck the connections from the servo to the receiver to eliminate that being a factor.

Hi , I'm a new rc kid. I have question for my arrma. My truck got turn off after about 10 mins I play at%50of motor power .( New battery full charge). the steering was still working but the truck won't move. I saw the led was blinking very fast. The truck runs again after I turn off and turn on again. But it stop after couple mins. I really can't tell if the battery is low or what. is 10 mins run time about right ? Something wrong with my truck?

I just converted my Vorteks Boost to 4x4 it looks a little intimidating at first if your new to the hobby but once you play with the parts for a while everything makes sense it’s super easy and I love this video. You made this video perfect in my opinion and I took this Boost for a rip and what a difference in control love it

Where did you get your tool driver and bits?

Our local hobby store carries the bits. A power tool company here sells the DeWalt driver. Lowe’s also carries one like it. The bits are Racers Edge RCE7201

Not too much. Personally I like 2WD. It makes it that much more challenging.

As always, great video!! Since you are kinda right where I'm having an issue with my Losi DB PRO, the factory hex works well with the stock wheels but, the road tires and the paddle tires both, where they seat on the hub is longer than the factory wheels. So I get another set of hexes that are thicker. But now the issue is the amount of thread left to put the nut on to hold wheel on. Any ideas or help would really be greatly appreciated. I tried the pull trick you just used and I t was no help.

We resorted to milling the wheel at the inside to remove the extra plastic and add more room for the wheel to fit the hub properly. This procedure can be a bit messy and if you do not have the facilities to do it properly, can be a bit dangerous as well. Still, if you do have the ability to mill the inside portion down, shortening the side area, that was the easiest way we've found to get them to work. I hope this helps. AJ

Hi AJ, I think you missed the opportunity to put some thread lock on the screws inside the shafts that hold the axles. It's a common issue with the 3s platform for the little screw to come undone and the whole wheel to come off. Great video as always!

We have big bore shocks on our 3s Vorteks. They work pretty well, but so do the stock ones. It's a toss up. Thanks for asking.

@@AJJAMStudios Not sure where I should ask this, back in the hobby first time was a couple years ago, been getting rebrands, beefing 'em up for speed runs, then reselling to trade up. Got the 4x2 boost mega vorteks Was wondering, realistically, what motor / esc I should get? Already got upgraded shocks and the 4x4 upgrade is on the way, but a brushed 550 on 2s pushing 7 pound or so 1/10 scale rc truck with big'ol tires, wont that wear motor out faster? Also, if we're upgrading to brushless, upping the cell count, and changing motor perameters, shouldn't we adjust gearing?

Do NOT buy the 4x2 model, you will be sorely disappointed. Not only do you pay for the NiMH battery and charger it comes with, it is extremely under-powered and VERY difficult to maneuver on slippery surfaces like snow or sand due to it being rear heavy. Upgrading to the 4x4 3S brushless boost kit is complicated, takes time, is expensive, and does not include the wheelie bar. 4x2 NiMH Boost: -Non-adjustable steering components -Added cost of NiMH and charger which you will not use once upgraded to 4x4 3s boost kit -No wheelie bar when you decide to upgrade to 3S -Requires the 3S brushless kit if you plan on upgrading to 4x4 boost kit as the brushed motor is extremely underpowered -Max 20MPH -Cheap transmitter with delay -Weak and slow servo 4x4 3S Brushless -Adjustable front and rear driving links -Can power wheelie -Comes stock with Spektrum DX3 transmitter -Max 60MPH -Fast servo and responsive throttle Better to save up a bit to buy the more expensive Vorteks 3S 4x4.
