AJP PR7 ADV Bike - Hot and Hilly!

I head out with Brendan on the PR7 for its maiden voyage. Bike goes well but the trip plans have some issues and we end up changing some plans quite a bit. But all part of the adventure!

Hey mate. Glad the bike performed beautifully. It served me good over the past years. Glad it’s gone to an owner that will look after it, in ways better than I did. Engine sounded sweet. Although can hear those valves. Been 3 or so years since it’s last big or even small outing. Great stuff.

Seems like an ideal use case for me also this PR7. Able to tour on it and still go properly offroad unlike my T7

Yeah agreed. Everything has it's compromise though the T7 will be more comfortable on the freeway and long hauls. But yes your right about the use case that's why I ride these size bikes

Only plus for the T7 is vibrations and maybe slightly less fuel consumption i suppose. T7 is good at hammering highway..

Nice bike the PR7 - Had mine 2.5 years, recently moved to GasGas ES700

I think they are the best two true adv bikes on the market. Is the Gas Gas closer to the 701 or 690

@@dirtbikeadv PR7 is more all round dual sport / adventure bike - 690x platform feels more like a big enduro. the ES700 uses the 701 fuel filler cap, but otherwise is the same as the 690 (except for seat and plastics, which are specific to the 700) and currently its £££ cheaper.

@@K2LVN hey mate hard to find any decent pr7 vs 690 reviews. Can you tell me which one you would prefer on harder 4x4 tracks? Which one feels more nimble for you? I have a 690 and although it is very good, it is still quite a large bike to move around when the going gets tough. I find the 690 is really at home on graded gravel or dirt roads, but begins to be to big and heavy when the tracks get rough and tight. Cheers

You can’t beat a modified 500excf. It isn’t the greatest road bike but runs rings around any other bike in the dirt.

Up behind Coongulla mate. Head out from the fire station turn left and went to Ben Cruchan and down on to the Avon coming out above Nuggets. Where you from mate?

How would you compare or differentiate between the AJP and the 390rr?..I have a 390rr and a dr650...seems to cover my wants.nice vid by the way.

Yeah Hi Clive you seem to have a nice 2 bike setup as well with the 390 and the 650. The Pr7 is somewhere between your two bikes I reckon. It's not an agile enduro bike like the 390 but it would be more agile and have a bit more of a spirited performance compared to the 650. I set up a 2015 Beta 480 with a tower and long range tank a couple of years ago and I would say it rides a lot like that. That model 480 weren't much heavier than the current range of Beta's but rode a lot heavier and weren't that agile. Loving our two bike set ups as we have all the bases covered.
