Did you purchase the DMD direct from Thork or is there an Aust distributor. Purchase any additional accessories to go with it? What was the overall price if you are ok saying? Thanks
@dirtbikeadv
@dirtbikeadv 13 күн бұрын
Hi Chris, I did buy it direct from Thork and it cost $1362 delivered. Be careful when you order it because it's over $1000 AUD you will cop the import duties and GST. I got mine sent out in two packages. This was for the tablet, cradle, sunshade and an AJP mounting bracket. Thank for watching Steve

very sound advice; like you i really didn't want crash bars but you have made a real-world use for them; i used to ride with a camel back and store my tools/tube/filter/snacks in that but the ol' back isn't what it used to be; personally i'd like a bit more capacity in the saddle bags but i guess we have to take the muffler into account; i just ordered the CFmoto450 as my new steed after a few-too-many years off the bikes so i'll be checking out some bags that fit well to the bike; are you a local to Maryborough by any chance? i'm near Avoca.

Hi, the weight up and back is not the best choice for centering the masses, placing your bag between your saddlebags on the saddle would be better in the event of falls to pick up the bike, it's easier. To have tested both positions. That's what I prefer. Subject to not exceeding 30Liters and little weight inside. The saddle is very long on the PR 7. For weight distribution it is preferable to have slightly larger saddlebags 2 X 20/25L and a small bag on top rather than 2 bag on it. For many years that I have been going on motorcycle raids depending on the length of the trip, it is always a compromise between driving comfort and general comfort. See you soon.

hi, I just returned from a 3500 KM raid in Morocco solo with the AJP PR7. apart from a small fall where I twisted the crash bar. all went well. for the headlights, I installed an ADVENTURE MEN CAVE LED kit excellent lighting for 280€. it now has 8500 km the valve clearance was checked 0.15/0.16 on the exhaust and 0.13/0.13 on the intake. (still within the tolerance which is 0.15 to 0.20 for the exhaust and 0.10 to 0.15 for the admission) in France, no problem with the wiring and key switch. enjoy your bike. See you soon

@dirtbikeadv
@dirtbikeadv Ай бұрын
Hi Johannes, not sure what you mean. Are removing the section of exhaust just below the oxygen sensor so you can replace the exposed section of pipe? If so there is a flared join that is welded I simply ground away the welds and the flared piece came away from memory. If you are working on the muffler I haven't touched mine it is stock????

@dirtbikeadv
@dirtbikeadv Ай бұрын
Hi Bee, if the steel hoop bar is broken I would suggest you will have to get it welded up where the weld has cracked. It is part of a bigger loop bar that holds the headlight etc. The actual phone holder is a quadlock with the mirror bracket holder for attaching to rear view mirror arms. The hoop bar on the bike is 12mm I think. Regards Steve

Hi Mr Bigals, yeah that's one of the reasons I like the AJP it's very simple. The Gas Gas is my sons and yes it a 350. He absolutely loves it and I know why they are a great displacement that's very versitile. Almost the power of a 450 and almost the agility of a 250. When I had my 350 XCF we did a Finke trip and it was freakin awesome in the open stuff. Actually did the private property ride out from Arkaroola on the way through. Hope all is well for you mate :)

@dirtbikeadv
@dirtbikeadv Ай бұрын
Hi Mark, yeah million dollar question that. The amount of oil changes will affect the outcome a lot but if it has had regular servicing these bikes should be good for a 100,000 miles no problem. Low compression long stroking motors like these can do many miles. I've pesonally heard of many bikes still going strong after a 100,000 miles. If the service history is good I'd say go for it Regards Steve
