Watching M2K on Fountain of Dreams is the stuff of... well... Dreams. 2:29 M2K Fairs on Shield, and before Mango can wavedash back, M2K lands, runs, and catches him with a bair. 2:34 Bair to platform drop Bair; Jab and then follow up with a pivot grab. If Mango didn't air-dodge through he would have been caught. I wonder if it was a mistake on Mango's part. 3:05 Down-Smash to intercepting needle to narrowly dodging the recovery and catching with a back-air? MY GOD.

i don't think people realize how much mango gets to do on a shield being who he is people respect the fact that he's the best and don't challenge his shield pressure, so he goes on for a long time till they get to roll/WD away

As much as everyone agrees that trying to shield grab mango is bad, M2K did miss a few spots where that was the better option rather than staying in his shield. Mango's shield pressure is so great that M2K got heavily punished almost every time he put it up

I main marth. I feel like marth is a character where you need to be in control for your combos to work. you need to control the pace cause his timing is so specific.

@egkproductions I think his point is m2k had a better shot at placing 1st in melee if he didn't play brawl at all, i think it's amazing that he can play both games without getting mucked by bad habits carrying over ie trying to wavedash as MK or forgetting to Lcancel, he's so dialed in.

m2k's sheik putting in work. From what m2k told me, he's pretty much given up on the marth/falco MU...he said his sheik is in its prime now, while his marth kinda like mango's puff is kina being left behind in the metagame. Its funny how these two players gained notoriety through marth/fox m2k) and puff and (mango) yet they hardly use these characters. M2K's marth vs mango's fox would be so sick to see though.

+reVolt ! I don't know how much of the video you've been watching (and this comment is over a year old already), but the very first game is already a solid indication as to why that is a bad idea. To this day, I'm still astounded by how much Mew2King got dominated by this immovable force we know as Mango. The man has these days met his match, but it's without a doubt true to me that the man is the god of smash. He dominated for so many years, it wasn't until Armada showed up that the man was ever truly challenged. Not Mew2King, not PPMD, not Hbox, it was just him and Armada until this past year or so. That's crazy amazing.

@sonsonfox lol I know exactly what you mean, he always seems like he's the smarter player, even when he loses. Mango's spacing in the first match was the best example of spacing I have ever seen in Melee PERIOD! The reason why M2K lost is because his Marth is based on capitalization and not forcing his way in. Mango didn't make any mistakes to capitalize on while punishing his grab and fakeout attempts. Taj played more runaway This is one of my favorite sets ever in the history of this game.

@IndigoR Actually Mango plays excessively risky for a player of his caliber. He really does play around too much but at the same time his risks end up paying off because he seems to NEVER be wrong. Just watch the match, if he called out some of the stuff he did incorrectly it'd cost him a whole stock.

@IShotLazer If you're reading correctly then it's not so much of a risk. To me he was truly risky in the Grand Finals, many of his approaches (Nairing a low % Peach and shield pressure) were just to intimidate and show that he was in control. Unfortunately, Armada's Terminator-like ability to capitalize on the slightest opening made every failed attempt a stock loss. Mango was playing extremely smart in this match, all of the "risks" were calculated and well spaced to avoid punishment.
