I once ran a clan of these that kept a large group of kenku as in-betweens for interacting with villages. They knew the messages were being relayed properly, the kenku wouldn't get any ideas about betraying them, and they had a common goal of wanting desperately to fly. They essentially ran a protection racket up a large river, keeping the fishermen and traders safe from river predators (which they were going to kill anyway) and thieves in exchange for magical and alchemical goods once per season. One town didn't want to pony up another Candle of the Deep, saw the party was new to the area and told them that kenku and monsters were stealing cattle in the night. Didn't find out until a few fights in that they were chest-deep in a deal gone wrong.

I think a small critique I have on their designs is they're a bit less alien than they could and should be. Even though D&D really doesn't operate on the same rules of nature as the real world, them having only four arms makes their bodies feel like something that can, albeit with staggeringly low likelihood, develop on earth due to a sort of rule relating to invariable tetrapodism in vertebrates. I could absolutely see an animal relying on their tail for locomotion, and thus lacking need of their legs for motion, repurposing them into a set of four arms. I think giving them just one more pair of arms would perfect that "Creature from another world" vibe they got going on.

Regarding them wanting to fly; What if a group of 5 or so of them sat at the top of a very steep "Calvin and Hobbs" type hill (for the wagon or sled) and they'd be playing cards or dice or something but taking turns in some kind of sled basket built for (one at a time) of them that speeds them down a run and launches them high in the air but then they fall *but because of a spell they teleport back to the start before they hit the ground! Then they all laugh and say "do me! do me!" It could be hysterical they have ambition to fly but can't easily. Perhaps levitation or feather fall could help them with ridiculous attempts at flying with parasol umbrella like failed hang gliders etcetera☂️ 🌂 they want to fly but they just don't get it lol.
