For some it’s just about finding the right AJR song to relate to, like Karma isn’t going to hit as hard for someone that hasn’t experienced depression however if their parents went through a divorce then My Play is going to hit a lot harder. Like with OK Orchestra my least favorite song was Joe because I never had the experience of looking up to someone and just trying to emulate them but I didn’t hate the song just didn’t like it because I couldn’t click with it the same as other songs.

That's such a smart idea! At first i was confused on why they would just post a video of one of the concerts, with the part where they play this song, as the official music video, till i realized it's supposed to tell the story of how they showed the idea to the Blue Man Group. I wonder if this song is not just about people being judged for being themselves, but kind of also ties into the band themselves. As they get bigger, they will run into people who will dislike their songs for one reason or another. People who very much want others to know why they don't like them. When you are a lesser known band, it might seem easier to ignore people like that, but with popularity comes more critics as well as more fans. They could try to play like others to satisfy them, but they want to experiment with music and create unique songs. They don't want to be ordinary. It can be hard to stand out sometimes, to be judged, but everyone comes to a point where they have to be someone. That interpretation is something that came to me long after I first heard this song. I love music and I enjoy AJR so much. I hope to keep hearing new songs from them.
